Mudcats win on walk off hit by Castillo.
The Mudcats got great pitching from starter David White, who hurled 6 shutout innings, and from Jamil Mamdani who only allowed one run in 3 innings. That 1 run was going to be enough for the Mariners as Ryan Stevens was masterful. He had only allowed 2 hits until the 9th. In the 9th, Tim Bayer led off with a single to give the Mudcats some hope, the next batter hit a hard one-hopper back to the box, but the throw to 2nd base took the SS away from the base and the umpire called the runner safe. Next up was Dave Becker who coaxed a walk to load the bases, and then Gilbert Guzman got plunked on the elbow to tie the score. Up came Phillip Castillo, who hit a high chopper that went over the thirdbaseman's outstretched arms and the Mudcats walked off the victory. Stevens was brilliant for the Mariners, no doubt.
