Everyone of course wants to win but there has to be a looser.Some kids are better than others,but that doesn't mean you can't be just as good.It only means more practice is needed.This is by far the greatest sport ever and should be a privlege to play.So have fun,do your best and enjoy each time you step out onto the field. |

Since this was my last game i'm happy we brought the title back to the elks club.I want to thank my coaches jude,joe,jose,tom,and of course coach eddie. 3-peat Almost forgot i was happy to be chosen to play with the 12 year old south allstars we went on to win the district tittle. but lost in the sectionals in the first kenny took the mound for us and did a great job but we couldn't push one run across to even the score at 3 before the rain and thunder. in the second game we had our Ace danny on the mound in the first inning the scored a couple of runs on errors the in third inning our bats came alive as we came back and took a 5-4 lead heading into the fourth inning then we took a commanding lead of 9-4 and went on to win the first ever sectional game for hoboken. Then in the last game we had flash on the mound. We crusied along in the first 2 innings and then in the third innning they took a 5-0 lead then in the next inning with the bases loaded i hit a single to score to runs but after that we couldn't score any more. Well Thanks coach mas, coach Alan without u guys we wouldn't had made it as far thanks to all my coaches who made me a better ball player. |

Hoboken April 23, 2006 1:32:06 PM Entry ID: 824685 | memories..1974 my oldest son played for the unicos under john mack.almost upset the troys ,losing a one run game to what was the power in those days..Another son played for the Milne Boys,and won a championship one year in mid 80s and dave Milne started my son at ss..at the age of nine. The youngest son played for the Unicos under Moe Mulvanie and the next year for Capt ED Garcia..and won the championship in 1988...Then it was on to high school youth summer leagues and high school and big east college later on. Never forgot Joe Palanio ..when he umpired..Before the lights were installed..Swing kid its getting dark..What is Bruce Springsteens song??Glory Days..There here now but we dont realize it..Bless the kids and let em play ball. |
