I want to Congratulate Lawrence for receiving the Deer Park Soccer Club's Outstanding Senior Scholarship Award. The Club gives 2 of these out per season, one for each gender. I couldn't think of a more deserving player to receive this award !!!!!

I want to congratulate my son Joe for receiving the nomination for Best Actor award for his lead performance in the HS play "The Drowsy Chaperone" along with the nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his multiple roles in his HS 5 Act Fall play. The awards ceremony will be held on May 17th to determine what I am told is the HS equivilent to the Academy Awards. Good Luck to Joe !!!!!

DPLD: Instead of individual game result write-ups I will just say it here. First I am extremely proud of the boys and you all should be as well. They only allowed 1 goal against in 4 College Showcase games and as I honestly replayed each game in my head yesterday.......I am convinced the Dawgs were the best team in the bracket having the better of the play in each of the 4 games. That isn't rose colored glasses, that is absolutely how I see it. I felt all the boys busted their butts and gave a ton of effort. Our defense was outstanding. I felt TJ played THE best soccer of his short Dawgs career and really step up his game against some quality opponents. I also felt Travis played the best, most complete Stopper role to date for the team and especially his performance in the 3rd game against what I felt was the 2nd best team next to us. Andrew played every minute of every game on left defense and his willingness to make runs forward was fantastic. I as the coach have to clean up coverage responsibilities when thos situations occur because it is different in a Stopper/Sweeper formation compared to a conventional Falt back four but that is an easy fix imo. It may not always the pretty but I must compliment my own son for his 3 assist performance in the 1st game and for his effort in all 4, Joe, you made me proud. John was incredible once again at Sweeper and 3 out of the 4 coaches we faced made very positive comments about him. JT's speed up top was a problem for our opponents and I feel had we been on turf he would have produced a few goals (We'll see if I'm right this coming weekend...lol) Austin's continued effort level is just terrific to see along with his skill on the ball. Rumor has it Chris's parents didn't feed him because he didn't score (that is a joke for those who don't always get my humor...Im sure he got something out of the vending machine) but I tell you what, he played outstanding and made things happen. A tip of the hat to edwin for helping create an even rotation in the central midfield roles. His effort was as always high level. Ernesto although he and I aren't always on the same page and end up having lots of conversations during games, he still plays damn hard and makes some very creative passes when in the attacking third, now if he can keep the ball on the ground when passing while taking away the no-look/no-clue where the ball is going passes I think his game will improve incredibly ) Lawrence "I can run all day" Pierre had to do almost just that when Daniel unfortunately got cracked across the ankle in the very first game causing him to be hobbled the rest of the weekend. Lawrence played outstanding and effort level was tremendous as always while Daniel gutted it out to get some minutes. Although I had to speak to him several times, to his credit Alex played outstanding in the second 2 games (Sunday) to his credit and I thought it was his best effort yet. Jordan handled his business as always and did what he needed to do on the rare occasions the defense looked to him for help. I thought our two guest players nick 7 Sean made great contributions, Nick up top shredded the 1st teams defense to net one and gave tremendous effort in all 4 games while Sean pitch inon defense very very well in the 1st game then played central midfield for the remaining 3 doing that very well. Sean has always been a high effort player. I have to start working and will re-read this so if i left anyone out I will corrected. I thought the boys played some excellent soccer this weekend and as I said I am very proud to say I am their Coach !!

I thought the boys played outstanding against the DP BU17 Premier team, the CP Premier team and the BP D1 team. Like I said, had this been a tournament and you combined the 2 halves that we played against each team we would be 3-0 on the day with 10 GF & only 2 GA with one of those being a PK. DPLD 3-BP 0, DPLD 4-CP 0, DPLD 3-DP Warriors 2...I thought it was a great day all around.

If you looked at our schedule currently only the dates of play are available and that was enough to set up the 3 Spring Divisions (League/State & LI Cup) as soon as the rest of the info is available I will update it (Opponent/Time/Location)

Well Dawgs yet another good season has come to an end. It's pretty nice when you think that in the last 2 seasons we have only lost 2 league games, 1 per season. That's not too bad. With the end of this season we say goodbye to 3 players and hello to 3 new players, well, 1 returning player...lol. Again I want to wish Nkosi all the best in the world playing on age after all these years of playing up with the Dawgs since the very beginning. I guess you could say Nkosi is an O.L.D. Good luck to you kid. We've been through a lot over the years and no matter what, you will be missed. Justin L. has also decided to play back on age and although he suffered some unfortunate luck with his injuries, it was a pleasure having him be part of the team. Last but certainly not least, Greg "Sid" Bertrand, without a doubt the best personality of any player I have ever Coached and that is a huge compliment because we do have some good guys on this team. Greg, Justin and Ko, I wish you all nothing but the absolute best..... Joining now are Austin Prucha once again, Jake Bloom and Ernesto Chacon. Three players I complete believe will help the Dawgs repeat and exceed their past accomplishments

Guys I feel you had an excellent tournament going 3-1 with scores of 3-2, 5 or 6-1 (plus two more that were incorrectly called back for offside which they weren't) 2-0 and the Semi Final game 0-2. True we did lose the semi final game to a very good team but I think the key was we didn't match their intensity in the first 20 minutes of the game. 2nd half I do believe you guys did not allow even one shot on goal and absolutely raised your level of play along with your intensity. I'm very proud of both teams for the way they played the game this weekend. For those that came over to watch my little guys play, I thank you, that was nice. See you all on Thursday, rest up. PS, don't forget new pics are up with more to follow by Weds.
