cookstown May 4, 2008 10:48:52 PM Entry ID: 1381046 | the sun was out and reasonably warm for early May, the field at baxter was a lot less than perfect though. there was a goopy soupy mix in the east players bench and around home. big puddles on the pitchers (mound?) and in front of the catcher, (they all got sprayed when a long pitch spleshed down in front of them). I know my feet were wet after the second inning and cold after the fourth. Left field was apparently soft with water too. The officiating seemed to be sufficient, we will see if the umps get into the fun of the game more as the season wears on. I hope all teams had a good turnout today and had a good game. the Devils had to overcome the adverse field conditions to pull this one out and win their Home opener. no, we didn't play Odd's n End's. bfn. dean. |
