The Harriton girls field hockey team chalked up another win yesterday against Norristown bringing their overall record to 8-8. The final score of the game was Harriton 3, Norristown 2. Carolyn Flannery had a big day with 2 goals both scored on corner rebounds. Caleigh Foust had one goal for the day assisted by Michele Horev. Harriton goalie, Eva Lopez, had 4 saves in the game.

Again, Carolyn Flannery and Allison Wortley were solid on defense while Eliza Brooks constantly fed the ball to the offense from the midfield. Harriton plays their last Central League game today against Upper Darby hoping to end the season with a winning record! Go Rams!


Defender Carolyn Flannery scores 2 goals against Norristown



The Harriton High School girls field hockey team celebrated senior night with a win over sister school Lower Merion. The final score of the game was Harriton 3 LM 1. The game started slow with Harriton dominating but just unable to put the ball in the cage. Julia Fuchs finally broke the stalemate and scored a beautiful one time sweep assisted by Mackenzie Morgan. Caleigh Foust followed up with a goal on a one on one show down with LM's goalie.

The final score came from a Mackenzie Morgan, assisted by Nicole Sutliff on a powerful corner shot deflected off the LM goalie into the upper left corner of the cage! Eliza Brooks kept the ball on the offensive end stopping many LM players at midfield. Defensively Carolyn Flanneyr, Marrisa Giamparcaro, Kaitlyn Kimzey and Allison Wortley kept LM to only one goal.

Eva Lopez started for Harriton in goal and had three saves not letting in any goals. Ali Hirsh went in second half and had 3 saves and let in only one goal. What a way to end a great night of celebration for the Harriton senior players!

JV Defeats Upper Darby in Shut Out

HHS defeated Upper Darby High School, 5-0. Charlotte Van Wieren scored a goal and was assisted by Jenny Langer and Simone Seletsky. Courtney Scardecchio scored four goals and was assisted by Jenny Langer, Jess Vander, and Charlotte Van Wieren.


Harriton field hockey squad knocks off unbeaten Conestoga

The Harriton High School field hockey team defeated Conestoga last night by the score or Harriton 2, Conestoga-1. This was a major Central league upset as Conestoga was undefeated (and ranked 4th by the Philadelphia Inquirer) going in to last night’s game. The score at the end of the first half was Harriton 2 Conestoga 0 with Caleigh Foust scoring both goals. Makenzie Morgan assisted the second Foust goal. Carolyn Flannery, Martina Van Weiren and Julia Goodhart were amazinig on defense keeping Conestoga from scoring a goal until four minutes left in the game. At midfield, Nicole Sutliff, Aly Grady and Eliza Brooks kept the ball heading up field for multiple scoring opportunities. Eva Lopez was unstoppable in goal with 24 saves! Harriton’s record is 5-2 overall with a league record of 3-2.

Marple Newtown Win!

Harriton defeated Marple Newtown High School last night by the score of Harriton 3, Marple 2. Harriton started the goal scoring with a break away goal by senior Julia Fuchs. The assist for that goal goes to sophomore Caleigh Foust. Junior Leah Mason scored the second goal of the night with the assist going to Mackenzie Morgan. Marple then scored a goal ending the half with a score of Harrtion 2, Marple 1. Marple started the second half with another goal tying the game at 2 a piece. With 8 minutes to go in the game, Machenzie Morgan sent a beautiful pass to Caleigh Foust who put in the winning goal. On defense, Carolyn Flannery and Nicole Sutliff stopped several offensive drives by Marple. Goalie Eva Lopez had 5 saves in the game.

Penncrest Shutout!

The Harriton Girls Field Hockey Team defeated Penncrest yesterday by the score of Harriton 3- Penncrest 0. Nicole Sutliff scored the first goal of the game from a penalty stroke called against Penncrest. Her stroke was perfectly place in the lower left hand corner of the cage giving Harriton a one goal lead. During the second half, Caleigh Foust had a beautiful unassisted goal on a break away! The final goal was scored by Leah Mason with the assist going to Mackenzie Morgan. On defense Carolyn Flannery was solid keeping the Penncrest attack from getting a goal. Eva Lopez racked up 8 saves for the day.

Rams vs Agnes Irwin

The Harriton girls field hockey team fell to Agnes Irwin in overtime by the score of Agnes Irwin-3, Harriton 2. The Rams ended the first half ahead of Agnes Irwin on a goal scored by Carolyn Flannery. Agnes Irwin scored a goal at the start of the second half tying the game 1-1. Agnes Irwin again scored going ahead of the Rams.

With only minutes left on the clock, Caleigh Foust scored a fantastic one touch goal on a beautiful pass by Nicole Sutliff forcing the game into a 7 v 7 overtime period. Unfortunately, the Rams were unable to hold off Agnes Irwin's first drive down the field which resulted in the winning goal. The game ended with Agnes Irwin on top with the final score of 3-2.

Rams Win Season Opener

The Harriton Girls Field Hockey team started their regular season with a win against Sun Valley High School. The final score of the game was Harriton 4- Sun Valley- 0.

Harriton dominated the entire game wtih 11 shots on goal. Caleigh Foust scored two goals and had one assist. Carolyn Flannery and Michele Horev each scored a goal on a corner tip in shot. Eva Lopez was outstanding in goal with 6 saves.
