Shadow Mountain High School is a public high school that opened in 1974.  It is located in the North valley of Phoenix, Arizona.  The school is part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District.  The school's athletic teams are known as the Matadors and the school colors are Navy Blue and Gold.

The mission of Shadow Mountain High School is to create an environment that inspires students to achieve their full potential, equips them with the tools necessary for future success, and promotes the importance of contributing to the global community.

Shadow Mountain will be a new model for the contemporary high school. We will be at the forefront of innovation and learning. We will be a community of learners that provides a rigorous curriculum and the best instructional practices. We will promote individual and collaborative inquiry within a creative environment that provides opportunity and ensures success. We will guide our actions through respect and acceptance of the individual and positive involvement within our diverse school community.
