The San Gabriel Valley Seals are a youth soccer club that competes in the Villa Park Youth Soccer League in Pasadena, CA. We have been in existence since 2012 and are in our infancy. We currently compete in three seasons throughout the year. Our outdoor 11 v 11 season takes place during the spring - summer (Febuary thru July) throughout Pasadena, CA. In the fall we compete in a 7 vs 7 league (Late August - November) which takes place at Villa Park Recreation Center. We also compete in an indoor league in the fall that also takes place at Villa Park Recreation Center. The San Gabriel Valley Seals can provide an excellent soccer enviromnment for youth soccer players for 9 months out of the year, where all games and practices take place locally. The Seals are coached and trained by Shane Watkins, founder of the SGV Seals. Shane is a former professional player with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. His professional playing career spanned the globe as he played in domestic leagues here in the US and also in Coast Rica and Ireland. Shane holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" Coaching License and has coached at a variety of levels, from youth to college for the last 13 years.
Although his career took place in a variety of clubs, cities and continents, his formative and most influential years were all in San Francisco with the San Francisco Seals. The San Gabriel Valley Seals aim is to create a fun and challenging soccer experience for all it's players. "The reason most kids stop playing sports is because it isn't fun anymore."
