15 teams confirmed for 2012 Brooklin/Whitby Fall Classic

With the 2012 Brooklin/Whitby Fall Classic just over a week away, 15 teams have been confirmed. This does not include the two host teams. There is an expectation of two more teams being cofnirmed this week as well as a couple of other teams kicking the tires to see if they have enough interest from players to submit a team.

Tournament organizers will be deciding this weekend whether to go with a 16 team, 18 team or 20 team tournament.

Five parks have been confirmed for the weekend, Clarington Fields, Ritson Field, Kinsmen Stadium, Port Hope Town Park and Harvey Jackson Memorial Park (Kendal). At least four of these parks will be over the course of the weekend with the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Fianls and final being played at Clarington Fields on Sunday October 14th.

We hope to have the full schedule posted by early next week.

Teams that have been confirmed are:

Scarborough Dragons (SABL)
Markham Mariners (GTBL)
Mississauga Rays (MMBL)
Etobicoke
SABL All-Stars (SABL)
Oshawa Banana Slugs
Georgina Red Wings
Erindale Cardinals (COBA)
Peterobrough Flyers (GTBL/OSBA)
Guelph Blues (RCBL)
Scarborough Cardinals (SVL)
Metro Mets (OSBA)
Gatineau Red Sox (NCBL)
Mississauga Yankees (MMBL)
Bolton Braves (OSBA/NDBL)

More updates to come in the days ahead.

2012 Brooklin/Whitby Fall Classic date set

The host teams of the 2012 Brooklin/Whitby Fall Classic have set the dates for the tournament. This years tournament will take place on the weekend following Thankgiving, which would be October 13th and 14th.

The registration fee for this years tournament will be the same as last at $600. Teams are strongly urged to get their deposits of $200 in no later then September 14th.

Each team will be guaranteed 3 games in Round Robin play. Should the tournament have 16 teams entered as planned, there will be Quater-Finals which will then have 8 teams playing a minimum of 4 games for the tournament, an even better bang for your buck! Please remember that this is a first pay first play tournament, so don't delay in getting your deposits in.

We are hoping to make this the biggest Brooklin/Whitby Fall Classic tournament yet by getting past 16 teams.

Stay tuned for further tournament updates.
