Future College Prospect Showcase Camp
The purpose of the Future College Prospect Showcase Camp is to provide high school players in the NY tri-state area with an opportunity to showcase their baseball skills and athletic ability to college baseball coaches. The Showcase Camp can increase a student's chance to receive an athletic scholarship to play baseball at the collegiate level while obtaining a college degree.
Players attending learn advanced baseball techniques and hear advanced terminology and valuable recruiting information from college coaches who recruit on the national stage. Training with and learning from these coaches will help the high school baseball player in several ways. Most directly, they will learn what is expected from a college level player. Second, they will begin to establish a relationship between player and coach that, on many occasions, can be key to accomplish their college baseball dream.
At previous year's Showcase Camps, over 20 schools participated onfield, working the drills and evaluating the players. Schools represented the northeast, mid-atlantic and southeast regions and included Division I, II and III schools.
2020 Showcase Camp:
Guaranteed attendance of college coaches on the field and evaluating players. Each player's profile and stats will be available to the coaches.
Day one (August 11) - Coaches evaluate the 5 Tools (skills) of each player with each player receiving a complete professional-style evaluation work session.
Day two (August 12) - A 9 inning game will be played with 2 college umpires calling the game. Players will compete in a college game setting, displaying their talents in front of the college coaches. Each position player will have the opportunity to show off their skills and each pitcher will be able to pitch live to a batter in a game setting.
To complete the process, the college scouts will evaluate the players on the field throughout the showcase camp and a written evaluation will be presented to the players at the conclusion of camp.
