MINOR LEAGUE FOOTBALL REPORT 2018 HALL OF FAME

 

Snoop Dogg - Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. – Player/Promoter – for all he has done for Minor League Football and  Organizations through his Snoop Youth Football League (SYFL). His organization has helped many young kids and given them the opportunity to grow and advance into the NFL once getting older. Nominated by Darren Magpie President of the Minor League Football Report.

 

Joseph Lee Jr. – Coach – Has been coaching and teaching since 1971. He is one of the most sought out coaches by the NFL because of his ability to read and see the field. He is a teacher and instructor unlike any other because of a system he developed called Coach Lee's New Football Key System. Nominated by Darren Magpie President of MLFR Hall of Fame

 

Bernard Roundtree – Coach – Played from 1992 – 2004 Houston Gladiators, Sugarland Express, North Houston Raiders, Houston Tigers, Houston Hurricanes. In 1998 formed the Houston Jaguars that defeated then Mexico Collegiate National Champion Monterey TEC in Pasadena Texas. 1999 was part of the Houston Outlaws a member of the Regional Football League (RFL) which led to formation of the Houston Marshalls of the Spring Football League in 2000. The SFL was short lived however San Antonio Matadors and Houston Marshalls were named co- champions as they were both undefeated. The last professional football game played at the Miami Orange Bowl was an SFL game: an estimated 650 fans watched on April 29, 2000 as the Houston Marshalls defeated the Miami Tropics 40-10. Bernard then returned to the field as a player playing for the Texas Riders when their season was cut short, he joined the Houston Gunslinger from 2000 -2004 winning the United Professional Football League (UPFL) Championship in 2002. Bernard then begin his coaching career in 2005 becoming the head Coach of the Texas Colts from 2009 – 2016. The Texas Colts participated in 5 championship games along the way winning back to back league championships in 2015 in the DTFA and 2016 in the TUFA and also went to a National Championship with eventual loss to the Colorado Greyhawks. Bernard’s won loss record to date is 117 wins and 17 losses in 13 years with numerous conference championships that are not mentioned. He is currently the Head Coach for the Texas Mustangs Football Club based in Houston Texas but with players from all over Texas. Nominated by James Germany

 

Wendell Mosley  - Player – 1991 with the St. Louis Motion led team in receiving TDs 11 and over 40 receptions and 850 yards! Second year 1992 St. Louis Renegades led team in receiving TDs 9 and over 40 receptions and 750 yards.1993 to 2014 played with the St. Louis Bulldogs. Wendell is the all time leader in all Bulldogs history. Receiving over 1100 receptions and over 15900 yards also at least 170 TD'S. Leads Bulldogs in yards from scrimmage, TD'S scored. Has been voted to numerous AFA, NFE and Minor League Football News All-American list. Has been to over 11 all-star games and was voted MVP in 4 of those games! Wendell also played in the ’93 – ‘95 Mid-Continental Football League, 96-99 South Central Football League, 00-09 North America Football League 2010 World Football League, 2011- 2014 Gridiron Developmental Football League.Nominated by Hall of Fame member Gregory Moore coachchief12@yahoo.com

 

BRIAN DONNELLY - Player & MVP for the Jersey Cynder for 2 years.  Owner & player for the Shore Bulldogs for 6 years.  The first four years playing in 4 league championships. Played 6 years with Team USA Eagles playing in 13 international and domestic games with them winning 3 major international tournaments. Nominated by Mark Buford

ANTHONY PENN – PLAYER – 1993- 1994 AUSTIN ASSASSINS, 1994-1999 TEXAS STARS, 1999-2010 AUSTIN GAMEBREAKERS, 2011 – 2017  AUSTIN VIPERS NOMINATED BY HOF MEMBER HANK MORRIS

Deshawn Henderson – Player – Played with Henderson Wolverines 2006 – 2012 and SBA Raiders 2014. Played Defensive Back as Free Safety and Corner. Helped to win 2 Championships while playing with the Wolverines. Retired in 2015. Nominated by Mike Kelly

 

Andre Jackson – Player – Henderson Wolverines played wide receiver from 2004 – 2014. Andre has the most catches and receiving yards in Henderson Wolverines team history.Helped to win 2 championships while with the Henderson wolverines. Nominated by Mike Kelly

 

 

Rashid Lowe – Coach – Oklahoma Thunder – started coaching high school in 1998. Helped win a State Championships in AAA High school as the a QB and strengthening coach. Started coaching Minor League football in 2008. Coaches the Oklahoma Thunder which is one of the most successful teams in the USA. Won 3 World Football League Championships. Coach Lowe has trained 25 D1 football players, 2 Major League Baseball players (one World Series champion, Pete Kozma- Cardinals), 7 NFL players including, Alvin Bailey, Bo Bowie, Tyler Lockette of the Seattle Seahawks, Calvin Barnett of Browns, Dolphins, now with the Thunder, Shamiel Gary - Bills, Dexter McCoil- 49ers, Dom Alexander - Browns. He is 132-7 as a coach for the Thunder in their 10yr existence. With 7 AAA national championships and 8 Conference championships. His QBs calls him the “Grizzly” because of his fiery demeanor. The accolades are many and so long it’s hard to list all his accomplishments. Nominated by his son Tajh Kamal Lowe  

 

SHANNON “SANDMAN” RICHARDSON – COACH- STARTED COACHING IN 1994 JOINED THE COLORADO WILDCATS OF THE COLORADO FOOTBALL CONFERENCE (CFC) AS LB COACH UNDER HEAD COACH GARY KOZACEK. GARY KOZACEK MENTORED SHANNON AND THEY WON TWO (2) CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THREE (3) YEARS. COACH KOZACEK MOVED HIS TEAM TO INDOOR COACH RICHARDSON JOINED HIM IN A PRO COACHING JOB. COACH RICHARDSON THEN TOOK OFF A COUPLE YEARS. COACH RICHARDSON JOINED THE MILE HIGH PANTHERS COACHING STAFF IN 2005. HE WAS NAMED LINEBACKER (LB) COACH SLASH ASSISTANT DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR. THE TEAM WENT FOUR (4) AND FOUR (4) AND THEN FOLDED AFTER THE SEASON. COACH RICHARDSON THEN WAS OFFERED A POSITION WITH OF DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR FOR THE DENVER TITANS FOR THE 2006 AND 2007 SEASONS WINNING BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS. IN 2008, COACH RICHARDSON JOINED THE ORIGINAL COLORADO COBRAS AS THEIR DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/ASSISTANT HEAD COACH FOR THREE YEARS. IN 2012, COACH RICHARDSON WAS NAMED HEAD COACH FOR THE DENVER DYNASTY THEN COACH RICHARDSON TOOK OFF A COUPLE OF YEARS AND IN 2014 JOINED THE COLORADO GREYHAWKS AS AN ASSISTANT COACH AFTER THEIR COACH’S QUIT ON THEM AFTER THE FIRST GAME. THE GREYHAWKS GO ON TO WIN THE (CFC) CHAMPIONSHIP AS A FIRST YEAR TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. FROM 2015 TO 2017, (3 SEASON) COACH RICHARDSON WAS THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR FOR THE GREYHAWKS. THEY WON THE CFC THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS AND WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. IN 2018 COACH RICHARDSON WAS NAMED HEAD COACH OF THE FIRST YEAR DENVER SHARKS WHO FINISHED THE SEASON NINE (9) AND ZERO (0) IN THE REGULAR SEASON AND WON THE CFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. HE WAS AWARDED COACH OF THE YEAR IN THE CFC. IN HIS YEARS HE HAS CONTRIBUTED TO EARNING 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS. HIS TENTH CHAMPIONSHIP BEING THE FIRST AS A HEAD COACH. COACH RICHARDSON HAS COACHED IN THE COLORADO FOOTBALL CONFERENCE (CFC) FOR FIFTEEN (15) YEARS. NOMINATED BY ROB ESQUIBEL 

 

VICTOR MCDOWELL – PLAYER - 2001 TO 2016. PLAYED WITH THE SOLANO CHIEFS FROM 2001 TO 2006. MADE IT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP ALL 5 YEARS WINNING 4. FROM 2002 TO 2006 VICTOR PLAYED IN THE SUMMER LEAGUE WITH THE BAY AREA THUNDER IN THE HIGH DESERT LEAGUE WHERE THEY WON 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS. FROM 2007 TO 2016 VICTOR PLAYED FOR THE NORTHBAY RATTLERS APPEARING IN 8 CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES WINNING 4, APPEARING IN 4 NATIONAL TITLE GAMES WINNING 3. DURING HIS 15 YEARS IN SEMI PRO FOOTBALL HE HAS BEEN A PART OF CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE GCFL, NCFL, WCFA, PCFL AND THE HIGH DESERT LEAGUE. VICTOR WAS VOTED TO 8 ALL STAR GAMES. Billie Basquez - Executive/General Manager – Started semi pro career with the San Antonio Wolverines in 2007. She eventually moved up as Vice President of the South Texas Amateur Football League and team owner of the Cuero Gobblers and won a league championship. She relocated to San Antonio Texas and started to work with the San Antonio Desperadoes which eventually merged with the San Antonio Wranglers to form the Texas Ravens. In 2013 she became a regional director for the CRAFL LEAGUE in Texas. She also became the Owner and President of the Texas Ravens organization. The Texas Ravens eventually moved to the TUFA League in Texas. Since the inaugural season, the Ravens have compiled a record season record 53-7. They have made the playoffs each year. T.J. Wood - Player- OL 2010-2013 South Bay Stallions: 4 time All-Star/ 1st Team All-League NCFL/PCFL. 2011 1st Team “Best of the West”. Started every game on the Offensive line during that time period. 2014 South Beach Outlaws: PCFL All-Star, Started every game at LT for the 2014 PCFL Champions. 2015 Central Coast Barnstormers: Started at both Tackle Positions for the 2015 UFA League Champions, and the MLFN Western National Champions. 2016-2018 South Bay Patriots: 2 time All-Star/ 2 time 1st Team All-PCFL. 2 Championship Game Appearances, winning the 2018 PCFL Championship. Nominated by Ron Birdsall

 

Walter Briggs – Player - Connecticut Giants also played Tom Cruise's quarterback in the movie “All the Right Moves”. Signed by the New York Jets off the   Connecticut Giants roster. Also played with Pocono Mountaineers/ Scranton Wilkes-Barre Stallions. Also played in Spain. Nominated by Bob Olivetti and Coach Ellison

 

Jon Norris – Player - DT. Connecticut Giants. National Championship player and signed with Chicago Bears. Also in NFL with the New England Patriots. A career Arena Football League player and an Arena Football head coach as well as the general manager of the Arena Football League Voodoo. Nominated by Coach Ellison

DEE LYNCH – PLAYER- LINEBACKER PLAYED WITH LAS VEGAS FALCONS, LAS VEGAS BULLDOGS, HENDERSON WOLVERINES, LAS VEGAS KINGS, AND THE LAS VEGAS TROJANS. PLAYED FROM 2002 – 2013. WON MUTIPLE PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS. PLAYED ON FALCONS, BULLDOGS AND TROJANS CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS. RETIRED FROM PLAYING 2013 AND NOW OWNER OF THE WASATCH REVOLUTION FROM SALT LAKE CITY WHICH HAVE WON CHAMPIONSHPS IN THE RMFL 2014, 2015, 2016 AND THE SWFL IN 2018. NOMINATED BY DARREN MAGPIE

 

ANTHONY BARTLEY – COACH - ANTHONY WAS TRACK STAR CONVERTED TO A FOOTBALL PLAYER WHILE IN THE AIR FORCE. IN 1996 HE WALKED ON TO THE NFL EUROPE TEAM THE FRANKFURT GALAXY. HE WAS RELEASED AFTER 6 WEEKS HE WENT TO THE GAFL LEADING THE DILLIGEN STEELHAWKS WHICH WON THE GERMAN SUDFEST BOWL CHAMPIONSHIP BY RUSHING FOR 821 YARDS AND SCORING 9 TOUCHDOWNS THAT SEASON. ANTHONY THEN RETURNED TO THE USA PLAYING FOR THE VENTURA COUNTY CARDINALS AND WINNING 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS. ANTHONY THEN STARTED WORKING AS THE REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT FOR THE NIFL. HE WAS ALSO THE GENERAL MANAGER AND HEAD COACH FOR THE LOS ANGELES LYNX. HE THEN MOVED ON TO COACH IN THE AIFL AS HEAD COACH FOR THE RENO BARONS, THE NEVADA LYNX, VICE PRESIDENT OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS OF THE ROCHESTER RAIDERS, AND HEAD COACH OF THE ABILENE WARRIORS. IN BETWEEN HIS PRO CAREER, HE LED THE SILVER STATE ASSASSINS TO 3 GREAT WEST FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AND AN AFA 8 MAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. MORE RECENTLY NOW COACH BARTLEY HAS TAKEN ON THE REIGNS AS HEAD COACH OF THE NEWLY FORMED RENO EXPRESS PROFESSIONAL INDOOR FOOTBALL TEAM. THIS COMING FROM THE 2 TIME HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE. SAMUEL THEN WENT ON TO PLAY WITH THE GEORGIA BANDITS HELPING TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP THERE. HE THEN MOVED TO CHATTANOOGA TN. AND PLAYED WITH THE CHATTANOOGA STEAM  HELPING TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2009 AND NAMED DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR AS WELL. 2010 SAW SAMUEL GO TO THE TENNESSEE CRUSH HELPING TO WIN BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS. IN 2013 PLAYED FOR THE ATLANTA HORSEMEN. SAMUEL FORMED HIS OWN TEAM THE TENNESSEE COBRAS IN 2014. HE PLAYED WITH THE GEORGIA CARDINALS IN 2017 CONTRIBUTING TO A CHAMPIONSHIP.

Isaac White – Player - Isaac played for 14 years and helped win 7 league championships and one national championship totaling 8 championships. He is a 7 time allstar. Issac started playing football in 2000 with the Joplin Crusaders as a running back as he rush for over 1200 yards every season he played.

Tracy Rico played semi pro football before becoming a coach in 2006. Coached the Tennessee Pioneers. In 2008 changed the name to Tennessee Crush. In 2009-2010 the team returned to Chattanooga Tennessee. The Crush won the United South Football League Championship. Tracy coached the team to and through a 47 game win streak. Which included a league title and a semi pro football National Championship by defeating the defending Champion Alabama Rockets. Tracy moved on to helping run the league office for starting the IAFL starting in 2016.  Nominated by Coach Andy Slagle

 

Benjamin Tanner – Player/Administrator was a 9 time All Star player over his 10 year career. Benjamine played for the Gilbert Bulldogs, Peoria Patriots, Phoenix Talons, and the Tempe Rams. Benjamin is now the Commissioner of the Arizona Desert Football League (formerly AZSDFL) the DFL will enter the fourth season of play in 2019. Nominated by, Jeremiah Trotter III and the AZDFL

 

Anthony Dedmond (2004-2017) – Player - Anthony’s minor league football career started in 2004 with the Belvidere Rush (now Rockton Rush). He was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and a 12-time All Star. He was the undisputed leader of the Rush, their spiritual heart and soul. He was a master motivator, a true gridiron preacher who made believers of his teammates. Anthony Dedmond recorded 1,053 tackles, 30 sacks and 10 interceptions in his 13 year career.   He helped win 3 Championships (1 Chicago Metro, 2 Midstates Football League). Nominated by Rob Feltner

 

Clint Christensen – Player -  5 time All Star at Safety with Colorado Springs Flames, Player of the year in the CFC. Nominated by Rob Esquibel

 

 

RICHARD THARPE – PLAYER DT - DRAFT PICK BUFFALO BILLS AND THE USFL RELEASED AND RESIGNED BY BUFFALO 1987, DRAFTED BY ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE 1988. PLAYED FOR THE POCONO MOUNTAINEERS. PLAYED ON MINOR LEAGUE FOOTBALL ALL STAR TEAM IN THE EMPIRE BOWL. NOMINATED BY COACH ELLISON HOF 2005

 

JOHN MCCORD - PLAYER-  PLAYED EVERY OFFENSIVE LINE POSITION DURING HIS TIME AND BEEN AN ALL-STAR EVERY YEAR THAT THIS HONOR WAS AVAILABLE. HE HAS NOT ONLY PLAYED BUT COACHED AND HAS BEEN THE BACKBONE OF THE NEW MEXICO TITANS OFFENSIVE LINE. HE HAS HELPED ELEVATE THE GAME OF NUMEROUS PLAYERS THAT HAVE GONE ON TO PLAY OVERSEAS AND FOR PROFESSIONAL INDOOR TEAMS. JOHN’S LEADERSHIP SKILLS ARE UNDENIABLE, AND HIS ABILITY TO STILL PLAY AT A HIGH LEVEL AT HIS AGE OF 52 MAKES JOHN AN OUTSTANDING TO EXCELLENT REPRESENTATIVE WHICH SETS AN EXAMPLE FOR NEW MEXICO AND ALL MINOR LEAGUE FOOTBALL TEAMS. EDDIE VILLENUEVA JR. – PLAYER- A STAPLE IN NEW MEXICO MINOR LEAGUE FOOTBALL FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS. EDDIE IS THE CAPTAIN OF THE NEW MEXICO TITANS DEFENSE AND HAS LED THE DEFENSE TO TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP APPEARANCES (FWFA) AND ONE VICTORY (2012 VS SO CAL COYOTES). EDDIE IS AND HAS BEEN A NATURAL LINEBACKER WITH THE ABILITY TO PUT HIS HELMET IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAYS AT ANY TIME. FOR YEARS EDDIE CALLED THE DEFENSE AS A FIELD GENERAL WHILE STILL PLAYING AT A VERY HIGH LEVEL. NOMINATED BY JARMAINE McCHRISTON 

 

SHANE EDWARD MITCHELL – PLAYER WON A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH COLORADO SPRINGS GENERALS, WON A CHAMPIONSHIP WITH DENVER TITANS, WON CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH THE COLORADO SPRINGS FLAMES, WENT TO ADAMS STATE GRIZZLIES COLLEGE FOR 3 YEARS RETURNING TO COLORADO SPRINGS AND PLAYING WITH THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN SILVERBACKS, COLORADO HAVOC, COLORADO STEALTH, COLORADO SPRING CYCLONES, AND THE COLORADO RAPTORS. TOMORRIO ANDERSON - PLAYER - QB CHICAGO, IL TOMORRIO PLAYED TEN SEASON IN SEMI PRO WINNING 6 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN HIS CAREER. 2003 -2004 CHAMPIONSHIP WITH FALCONS, 2006 – 2008 CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH CARDINALS, WITH A LEAGUE MVP IN 2007 NOMINATED BY MICHAEL NORWOOD

 

JOHN IRVING - OWNER-, CHICAGO,IL.  JOHN PLAYED SEVERAL SEASONS WITH THE CHICAGO FORCE, THEN STARTED THE JOLIET STALLIONS, STALLIONS OF COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, AND THE CHICAGO STALLIONS. Coached with the SoCal Coyotes from 2012 – Present and somehow found time to coach in Florida and New York from 2014- 2015. Reached National Italian Championships on more than one occasion, 2005, 2008, and 2012 winning a Second Division National Championship in 2013 and 2014. in 2012 as an Assistant Coach with the SoCal Coyotes, in 2012 FWFA AAA National Champions, Pac West Champions in 2012, UFAL champions 2013, APFL Champions 2015, LCFL Champions 2015, WDFL Champions 2017.  He coached at least 6 players that played in the NFL and the CFL. Coach Anderson is often published in American Football Monthly and Gridiron Strategies and has served as a consultant to the managing editor. Coach Anderson also works as a consultant with several coaches throughout the United States and Europe. AS A PLAYER HE PLAYED WITH THE 1999 TFL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM, HE ALSO PLAYED WITH THE 2000 AND 2001 IN NAFL NATIONAL CHAMPION AUSTIN RATTLERS. RODERICK HAS  MOVED ON TO COACHING HELPING TO WIN THE TUFA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2014 AND AGAIN IN 2017. IN 2017 HE HELPED COACH THE TEXAS XTREME TO A USA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. STARTED COACHING WITH THE VIRGINIA HORNETS, THEN THE VIRGINIA SAINTS AND LATER WITH THE VIRGINIA GLADIATORS. JEROME STARTED HIS OWN TEAM THE VIRGINIA TOMAHAWKS  IN 2017, WINNING THEIR LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP IN ITS FIRST YEAR. JEROME CONTINUES WORKING WITH YOUNG MEN AND THE HUDDLE PROGRAM OF NEW KINGDOM CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES WITH WHICH HE WAS AWARDED THE NO SOUL LEFT BEHIND AWARD FOR CONTINUED WORK IN THE COMMUNITY. DARNELL JONES - DARNELL CAME INTO THE CFC IN 1995. HE PLAYED IN THE CFC 95-11, HE PLAYED FOR THE COLORADO SPRINGS FLAMES, AND THE COLORADO SPRINGS GENERALS. DARNELL MADE THE ALL STAR TEAMS FROM 96-04, AND THEN 07- 11. HE WON SEVERAL CHAMPIONSHIPS WITH THE FLAMES 97, 01,09,11. DARNELL DOMINATED THE DEFENSIVE LINE 97 WHICH HE WAS RECOGNIZED AS MOST VALUABLE PLAYER IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP BUT ALSO WAS AWARDED IN 97, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR. DURING HIS TIME WITH THE COLORADO SPRINGS GENERALS  98-00, HE ALSO WON SEVERAL AWARDS FOR DEFENSIVE LINEMEN. HIS MAIN ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE COLORADO FOOTBALL CONFERENCE  IN 01,02 MOST VALUABLE PLAYER,  03 DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE YEAR, AND THE HIGHEST ACCOMPLISHMENT A PLAYER CAN RECEIVE THE "RICH REYES" AWARD FOR MAN OF THE YEAR.
