Parking at the A.C.T. Centre (Rundle Park)
DID YOU KNOW there is NO PARKING behind the A.C.T. Centre? This parking lot and driveway access are for City of Edmonton use only. You may be ticketed and you could be hit by long balls from Rundle #3. Also parking at the A.C.T. Centre north parking lot is limited to public access to the swimming pool. There is ample parking west of the A.C.T. Centre and north at the tennis courts. In some cases, it's a bit of a walk - but think of it this way....warm-up before the game
ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL AT THE DIAMONDS
DID YOU KNOW there is ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL AT THE DIAMONDS? This is a directive from the City of Edmonton and it is in our league rules. The umpires will be aware of teams who disregard this rule and you will be held responsible. The City could remove our use of the diamonds. Please be a TEAM player.

Navigating the Website - Diamond Locations
DID YOU KNOW you can get a map to any of the diamond locations used by OCSA? Just click on Diamond Locations on the left side of the page and from the Select Venue drop down menu at the top of the page, you can choose any location and receive directions with map.
Navigating the Website - Looking for Tournaments?
DID YOU KNOW that when you are looking for the Tournament Listing, you click on Tournaments on the left side of the page but you may not see anything listed. At the top of the page you will see Divisions: with a drop down menu. Click on the drop down menu, choose Tournaments and all the current tournaments will be shown!
Equipment
DID YOU KNOW you need to have a measuring tape in your equipment bag (at least 100 feet). This is not provided by the league. (Teams are responsible for purchasing their own bases....safety bag for first and all bags MUST BE double pegged.)
Base lines, commitment lines and pitching distance lines are required to be measured accurately. Refer to the rules for distance measurements.
IDEA: Invest in some extra cones to mark your commitment line, safety line, foul lines and out-of bounds. Help both you and the umpires!
NOTE: Players should refer to the Bat Policy for eligible bats.
Equipment
DID YOU KNOW that HOME TEAM is responsible for bringing the equipment - bases, including a safety base, home plate mat and foul line marker cones. If you are home team and you forget your equipment, you will forfeit your game. Remember: bases MUST be double pegged.
Poor Weather Games

This a reminder that when the weather is not cooperating, teams should check the website AND the City of Edmonton Field Status to determine if the games are going ahead. If the fields are "OPEN" on the City of Edmonton website, games are still on schedule. Teams are required to show up at the diamonds and it's at umpire's discretion whether a game will be played. The League will reschedule rainout games.
Games CANNOT be cancelled between teams without notifying the League. 'No shows' when games have not been Postponed by the league will be recorded as a forfeit.
If the weather takes a turn for the worst early in the evening on game day, it is recommended that you check the website as the remaining games could be postponed. Games that are suspended during play with less than 5 innings will be rescheduled by the league.
Please read the rules at Oil City House Rules and Field Closure Guidelines listed on this page for further clarification. Thank you.
Field Closure Guidelines

In situations when the weather is a factor and the potential is for games to be postponed, please use these guidelines:
1. Regularly check the City of Edmonton Field Closure Line the day of your game. The status is updated by 4:00pm Monday – Friday so use this time as your cut-off. Advise your players that a decision to play or not should be final when the line is updated by 4:00pm as information could change right up until that time.
- If you go to the Field Closure Web page, there is a link there to be set up for email and/or RSS feed notification if you are unable to check the line regularly yourself. You will be notified immediately when the status of the fields is changed.
2. Regularly check the website schedules as close to game time as possible.
- If the City OPENS the fields, and in your opinion the weather is still unsuitable; you are required to be at your game and the final decision of whether or not to play will be determined by the umpire.
- The league takes into consideration the potential for injury to players; AND
- The league takes into consideration the potential for damage to field surfaces.
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE LEAGUE - THE WEBSITE WILL BE UPDATED!
If the field surfaces are damaged during use, the league is responsible for costs to repair those damages and could have their booking privileges revoked.
If the games have been postponed, DO NOT use the diamonds!
These games will be rescheduled by the league. The captains will be notified and the schedules will be updated on the website.
Thank you!

Team Rosters
DID YOU KNOW Team Rosters are due FROM ALL TEAMS by the deadline - no exceptions! Rosters not received by this date will result in a forfeit for the team until they have been received.
A roster is included in your first package of information - please enter complete names (no nicknames)? TEAM ROSTERS ARE NEEDED FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES and playoff eligibility.
Posting Schedules
DID YOU KNOW that schedules cannot be posted untill ALL the games in the division have been played and scores reported? The league does it's best to post the new schedule as soon as possible; however, preparing the new schedule can only be done once the scores are reported and standings have been finalized.
We trust that teams also recognize that members of the Executive work full-time and have their own teams that play league and in weekend tournaments and we try our best to get information posted to the website and out to the teams as soon as we can to avoid disruption. Your patience is appreciated!
Reporting Scores
DID YOU KNOW that ONLY the winning team is required to report the score? Click on the link Report Scores on the Schedule Page, choose the correct date, division and location from the drop-down menus and enter the 4 digit password that was emailed to you. Then enter your scores. You MUST CLICK ON SUBMIT, hitting enter does not work.
Teams have 24 hours to report their scores or the game is given a 7-7 tie which could affect your placement in the next round or playoffs.
Player Names on the Line-up
DID YOU KNOW that teams are required to use the proper name of your players on the scoresheet line-up? This rule is in effect to benefit both teams - the opposing team knows who is playing and so that your line-up can be used to verify your players for playoff eligibility.
Substitute players MUST be listed on the scoresheet. When you make your substitutions, please advise the other team and make the change on the scoresheet - REMEMBER - this may affect your player eligibility for playoffs!
New Bat Stamps
DID YOU KNOW that Easton will not restamp your bat. There have been reports that Easton will restamp your bat with the new USSSA stamp if it was bought recently and is still in the wrapper but does not have the new stamp. Easton was contacted directly and they said "no".
We recommend that you thoroughly do your research before purchasing any bats!
Field Closure Line

POLLS

DID YOU KNOW the polls on the Home Page are posted to get a general idea of what the membership thoughts are on a certain topic or issue – a compass to see which direction they are leaning and what their thoughts may be. We trust that people will vote once and only once for the option of their choice and the results of a poll do not MAKE the decision in question. Your participation is appreciated.
