General Registration Info
You can register any time of day at our website at http://lexfastpitch.org and if you ever have any questions you can contact us on Facebook and we also have contact information on our website. We also have referral discounts if you refer a new player to the league.
Lexington Fast-Pitch Softball is an All-Girls softball league dedicated to providing a positive athletic experience for girls aged 4-18. Our hope is that each player will have fun and enjoy the experiences they walk away with, as they will be memories for a lifetime. We are first and foremost a recreational league with the goal of building skills and foundations but we also have multiple travel teams for those players who want to play at the next level. Most of this information relates to our recreational league but if you're interested in joining one of our travel teams contact us or view our travel team pages.
We are a non-profit organization so that means every penny we receive from registration, fund-raising, or donations goes back into the league to purchase uniforms, pay for umpires, purchase game and practice balls, maintain the the equipment, fields and facilities, and many other items which go into running a softball league. None of our board members, coaches, or players receive any compensation for their work. We encourage our players and parents to volunteer and help us through the year when we need help. Everything you can do to help us can help us keep costs down.
Lexington Fast-Pitch Softball is located in Constitution Park behind Northern Elementary. We have two full sized fields which can be used for all ages, a batting cage with two lanes, and plenty of open space for warming up before games or practice overflow. Our concessions is generally run on the weekends or on larger days when we have volunteers to run it. We maintain our fields and work with the city to maintain the overall facilities. Constitution Park itself has lots of open space, many trees, walking paths, as well as a boys baseball field which our league does not have usage rights for but is open for teams to use if it is not in use.
Player Registration, Divisions, Pricing, etc
Our standard divisions are TBall (4-5), 8U (6-8), 12U (9-12), 14U (13-14), and 18U (15-18). Depending upon how many girls we get in the various age groups each year we sometimes vary the divisions slightly. If we have enough to make a 10U division we will do that but often combine 10U and 12U in order to have more teams that division. All of our age divisions play at our park with the exception of our 18U division which we consider a "Regional" division in which we partner with other local leagues in order to increase the number of teams in the 18U division. 18U is a small division for many leagues with girls in travel ball, middle/high school ball, etc, so this gives our players more variety of teams to play. 18U play other teams at their home fields and the other leagues we partner with can vary from year to year but they are all within 30 minutes of our home park.
Player registration can be done online any time and once it has been done once you can re-register later for another season in a matter of minutes as all of the information is stored in the registration system. Fees, buy-outs, sibling discounts, etc, are all automatically calculated by the registration system and you can pay online with Pay Pal or by sending in a check. All information in the registration system is confidential within the league with limited access to the registration information. We will not sell your information, it will strictly be used within our league.
Division pricing is all maintained in the registration system and generally not posted outside of that system to ensure that we do not accidentally post static prices which may change year to year. We always offer early registration prices which are advertised on our website and Facebook pages which are automatically discounted from registration if completed before the deadline.
If you for some reason cannot register online we will often have in-person sign-ups which we announce on our Facebook page which we'll have paper registration forms or we can meet you at the park. We highly recommend using the online registration system as it allows us to organize the registration data and teams more efficiently.
Our Spring season is an always exciting return to softball after a long winter. We start practices in March and start playing in April and our season generally ends around the beginning of June. Exact dates vary year to year, as do number of games played by each division, number teams in each division, etc. We are always looking for more girls to play and more coaches to work with girls and the earlier we get girls registered the more teams we can balance and fill.
After summer it's always a fun return to softball for girls who took the summer off, or even travel players returning for another fun reason of rec ball. Our Fall season is shorter than our Spring but we have just as much fun and encourage girls to learn new skills and moving up into the next division if they will need to do that in the Spring. Practices start early September, games about the third week of September and we play until the end of October. As always, exact dates, teams, and divisions vary slightly year to year.
