Coach Rick's niece & Mckinly's sister Kasi Signs Letter of Intent
Hometown: Upper Arlington, OH
High School: Upper Arlington High School
Club: 18U Ohio Valley Extreme
During this past season, catcher Kasi Vazquez was chosen for the 2009 All-State Honorable Mention, First Team All-District Team, and was a 2009 First Team All-Conference selection for the Ohio Central Conference. This past season she helped lead her high school team to a 26-2 record. In 2007 and 2008 Vazquez was voted her team's Defensive Player of the Year and in 2009 was selected Offensive Player of the Year. Currently, she plays for the 18U Ohio Valley Extreme but as a player for the Central Ohio Nightmare her 14U team was an ASA national qualifier and a two-time ASA national qualifier for 16U. In addition to softball Vazquez is a 10-time varsity letterwinner at Upper Arlington High School, earning four letters in softball, four for water polo and two for varsity swimming. Her high school water polo team qualified for state championships four consecutive years, earning two runners-up finishes (2007, 2009) and two championships (2006, 2008). Given her athletic background it is no surprise that Vazquez will be studying sports medicine.
Coach Clark expects this recruiting class to make an immediate impact on the program. "This class is a tremendous addition to our team. These women are an incredibly talented and versatile group whose skills complement those of our current players. Adding them to our roster will only further the successes of the program."
