NEO Roy Hobbs 70+ Division

April 3, 2024

There will definitely be a 70+ division in NEO Roy Hobbs.  It will start with two teams, Kenmore Eastern Brewers and Kent Mudhens, but we would love to hear from you if you have a team to enter or wish to sign up as a Free Agent.  Up to three underage players per team  may participate.

We will play on Saturdays, although we are open to being creative about weekday possibilities.

The season will begin on May 18, so those of us who are involved in High School ball will be mostly done.  We are planning for 12 nine-inning games with a double elimination playoff. at the end of the season  Depending on trainout replays and the necessity for bye dates, the playuoffs would finish up in September.,

If you are at all interested and have enough players sign up as a team, please register on the team registration form on the right side of our home page.  If you are an individual player who doesn't have a team yet, please sign up on our Free Agent list and we will contact you directly with follow-up information.

Thanks,

Don B

Rocky Colavito Statue in Little Italy's Tony Brush Park

An announcement for those of us who grew up in the late ‘50s when Rocky Colavito was King of the Indians to all the little boys and a bunch of us a older ones too!  Several groups in the Little Italy neighborhood of Cleveland are spearheading a drive to erect a statue of him by the noted local sculptor David Deming.  I was told but not confirmed that the plaster form has been made but casting the bronze cannot proceed until fund raising is more complete.  They are almost half way toward covering the full $110,000 cost.

It you want to find out more or contribute as a team or individually, enter RockyColavitoStatue.com into your browser.  Donations of any size are more than welcome and you can get your name on a paver at the site for $125 or $250.
