Mayor Jimmy Davis has announced the Bayonne Recreation Division will offer various swim lessons for, boys and girls, ages 3 to 21.

The Division of Recreation has three different swim programs – Beginner, Parent & Me and Special Needs.

Each program will include education in water safety, as well as swim technique. The lessons will be available this summer at the DiDomenico Municipal Pool at 16th Street Park.

You may register for Swim Lessons at the SUMMER CAMP EXPO on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 9am to 12pm, at Veterans Stadium.

You may also register from June 18th to June 22nd in City Hall Room #13, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

BEGINNER  (1st Through 8th Grade)

Lessons will begin on Sunday, June 24 and will run through Thursday, August 2nd. .

Each lesson will last for 40 minutes, once a week, for six (6) weeks.

(1st & 2nd Grade)    

Sundays, 9:30am to 10:15am or Tuesdays, 5:30pm to 6:15pm.

(3rd & 4th Grade)  

Sundays, 10:30am to 11:15am or Tuesdays, 6:30pm to 7:15pm.
(5th through 8th Grade)    

Thursdays, 5:30pm to 6:15pm or 6:30pm to 7:15pm.

Four (4) lifeguards will be assigned for each lesson. There will be a 1 to 8 ratio of instructors to students.

The cost of the six-week program is $125.00 per student. For families, a discount is given for the second child ($75.00) and the third child is free.

PARENT & ME (Ages 2-5)

The program is an excellent opportunity for a parent/guardian to spend quality time together while easing their child into the water with support and confidence.

Lessons will begin on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

Each lesson will last for 30 minutes, for six (6) weeks, from 10:00am to 10:30am.

Four (4) lifeguards will be assigned for each lesson. There will be a 1 to 8 ratio of instructors to parents/students.

The cost of the program for a parent/guardian and 1 child is $75.00. A parent/guardian must accompany their child in the water.

SPECIAL NEEDS ( Ages 4-21)

Lessons will take place on Mondays, beginning on Monday, July 16, 2018. Lessons will begin at 5:45pm.

Each lesson will last for 30 minutes, for six (6) weeks.

Four (4) lifeguards will be assigned for each lesson.

There is no cost for the special needs swimming.
