Mayor Jimmy Davis has announced the Division of Recreation will be holding registration for the Young Children's Program. Three and Four Year old children are eligible for the September 2018 Class.

Registration will take place on Tuesday, March 6th, Wednesday, March 7th and Thursday, March 8th from 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and also on Saturday, March 10th, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, at the Bayonne Public Library (31st Street Entrance, Rooms C & D).

** For parents and guardians who are interested in registering for the program and would like to visit the classrooms and speak with the teachers and staff may do so on Thursday, February 22nd, from 4:30pm to 7:00pm, and on Tuesday, February 27th, from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. (We ask that children not be present at OPEN HOUSE so parents and guardians can have a thorough visit of our program.)

Paperwork will not be accepted at any other time. Applications must be completed at the registration site. Children must be three or four by October 1st, 2018 and must be a Bayonne resident. Two proofs of residency must be provided when submitting the application. Therefore, parents need to bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and Public Service Gas and Electric bill or driver’s license. Please make sure that copies are supplied, not originals. We will keep these copies on file. Applications will not be accepted without these copies.

The three year old children will meet three times a week, mornings or afternoons, for two hours per day. The four year old children will meet four times a week, mornings or afternoons, for two hours per day. Children attending the Young Children’s Program must be fully toilet trained.

The registration fee for the program is $100.00 per child. The registration fee is non-refundable.

For the school year 2018-2019, the tuition fee for the three year old program is $800.00; the tuition fee for the four year old program is $1,000.00. The tuition is paid in two installments: the first half in May 2018 and the second half in January 2019.

Approximately two weeks after the registration period, you will be notified of your child’s acceptance into the program. At that time you will be notified of the days when the registration payments may be made at City Hall.

The registration process is not a first come, first serve placement. If at the end of registration week the capacities are exceeded, a lottery will be held to determine the students who will be attending.

The children currently enrolled in the program have been given the opportunity to enroll at an earlier time. Spaces may be limited in the four year old program.
