Congratulations to the 12u East Coast Jays - Team White on going undefeated and winning the 2014 Historic Dodgertown Tournament in Vero Beach, Florida.

 

The East Coast Jays organization is proud to announce that their 12u team white were crowned Champions in the 2014 Historic Dodgertown Tournament in Vero Beach, Florida.

The 12u team white traveled down to Vero Beach, Florida during the winter break to face some tough competition from across North America.  The team, coached by Ryan Gorecki, scored 52 runs over six games while only allowing 22 runs. The team consistantly displayed explosive offense and stellar defense throughout the tournament which enabled them finish with an overall record of 6-0.

On Saturday Feb. 15, the 12u Jays defeated the ASBA - Downingtown, Pa. team 6-4 in their opening game.  In their second game of the day, the Jays also defeated the Northstars of Florida 6-4.

On Sunday Feb. 16, the Jays defeated the Canadian team, Espoir Arvida with an impressive 16-4 score.  Later on, the Jays would continue their torrid offense and beat the Minnesota Millers 11-6 and advance to the semifinals.

On Monday Feb. 17, the Jays continued their winning ways with their pitching aresenal and shut out the Flossmoor, Illinois Firebirds 6-0.  With the win, the Jays secured their place in the championship game against a Florida team, the Treasure Coast Crusaders. 

It was a battle of two talented teams but the Jays stayed tough offensively and defensively.  They defeated the Crusaders 7-4 and captured the Historic Dodgertown Championship!
