Chris Murphy drove in the go-ahead run to give the 16u Jays the lead in the seventh inning, as they hung on to beat the Central LI Rams 4-3 on Tuesday.
Max Jennings walked to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to third on a double by Stephen Sattanino. Michael Valentino got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings. The Central LI Rams couldn't get anything going so long as Dylan Judd was on the hill. Judd held the Central LI Rams hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two. Sean Nappier got it done on the rubber in relief on the way to the Jays' win. He pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings. Napier struck out four, walked none and gave up one hit.
In the bottom of the first, the Central LI Rams grabbed the early lead, 1-0. A single scoring the runner from second that started the inning off. The Jays matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the sixth. In the fourth, and scored on an RBI single by Judd, bringing home Valentino.
