Islander History

The Islanders baseball program was formed in the Fall of 2013 when LC Smith moved to Maui.  From a few volunteer baseball clinics parents approached LC Smith about forming a team for developing the local youth players.  Over the first year practices and clinics were held open to players ages 10-13 years old.  From this original group the Kihei Rays Bronco Team was formed and played in the Central Maui Bronco League and is still active in Pony League.  The Islanders have hosted clinics and showcases on island with Major League Legend and L.A. Dodger great Reggie Smith and Trosky Baseball.  We have raised over $15,000.00 in the past 3 years to help support baseball opportunities for local players through our Annual Golf Tournament.  The fundraising has supplied uniforms, food and tournament expenses for players.  The Islanders have traveled to Arizona for MLB Spring Training twice already and played in the USSSA Super NIT Championships.  We are very thankful for the support of such great families and businesses on Maui.  Without their love and support this could not be possible.
