Sam Hirchert struck out nine Moorhead Brewers in a complete-game effort on the mound as the Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants improved to 8-2 with a 6-1 victory Sunday night.

Dan Scholand went 3-for-4 with a solo home run for the Merchants. Jared Purdy also went deep as part of their 10-hit attack.

Hirchert allowed one run on six hits and walked three.

The Merchants are back in action Wednesday night, taking on the Mayville Redcaps in Fargo.
