Merchant Bats Take a Nap

Fargo, ND – The Miller Lite Merchants ended the regular season with a 1-0 loss to the Moorhead Brewers Tuesday night at Jack Williams Stadium.

The M’s managed only three hits all night.

“It was a rough night at the plate, hopefully the bats wake up for this weekend, stated Doppler Dan Ross.

Ross was a part of one the Merchants few scoring opportunities, as he was thrown out at home plate trying to score from first base on Turner Storms double in the second inning.

The M’s other scoring opportunity came in the fifth as the Brewers walked the bases loaded but J-Rod Purdy grounded out to third to end the threat.

Doppler took the loss on the mound throwing four innings of solid relief while giving up a run in the bottom of the fifth.

The Miller Lite Merchants finished the regular season with a 20-7 record.

This weekend the Merchants will take part in the North Dakota Amateur Baseball State AAA Tournament at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown, ND.
