Game 2 East Boston Knights @ Medford Maddogs

Hannon makes history tossses no no against biteless Maddogs

MEDFORD, MA.....It was truly Judgment Day for the Yawkey League Knights of East Boston! Fireballer Sean Hannon (2-0), pitched a complete game, no-hitter on Saturday, May 21, 2011 against the Medford Maddogs at Playstead Park. Hannon was sharp from the start going perfect through 3 innings. A walk in the 4th blew Hannon’s bid for a perfect game, but Hannon only got stronger with each pitch thereafter. Two Maddog runners reached 2nd base but never threatened beyond that. Hannon threw 74 pitches with 7 K, 1 BB, 1 E, and faced 2 Maddog batters over the minimum. Geoff Harris, DH, started the Knight’s rally with a double, scoring catcher Juan Rosario in the 4th inning. Knight’s star Rosario added to his RBI total knocking in a 5th inning run to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. Rosario now leads the Yawkey League with 5 RBIs after only 2 games played. Final score: Knights 3 – Maddogs 0. In their
Sophmore year, the YBL Knights are 2-0. Tewksbury native Hannon has pitched 12 innings total, 14 K, 2 H, no runs allowed with only 2 BB. The Knights will play their home opener on Monday, May 23rd with Brandon Eaton on the mound and look to improve their record to 3-0. The Knights videotape every inning to capture the essence of their spirit. Check them out at www.eastbostonknights.com.

Game 4_East Boston Knights @ Revere Rockies_05_30_11

Knights fight, can't climb Rockies

CHELSEA, MA………………The Knights hot start to the season was cooled off by the Rockies. The game was closer than the final score as the Knights showed signs of being a playoff team early in this one before the wheels fell off in the 5th. Branden Eaton was sharp to start only allowing a handful of baserunners thru 4 innings. The Knights defense was shoddy in the 5th as they allowed 4 unearned runs in the frame. Offensivley McCarthey quieted the hot bats of the Knights until the 7th when the Knights got to him and forced the Rockies to go to thier bullpen. The Knights had the tying run at the plate with 2 outs but could not climb all the way back. Revere drops Eastie 6 to 2.
