2010 MSBL All-Star Game

August 2, 2010
The 35 All Stars and the 25 American and National All Stars played to a tie in this inaugural event.

The game featured dominating pitching by both sides but, particularly the 25 Stars as they held the 35s hitless until the 6th. With the game moving at a rapid pace, (3 up and three down in 11 of the frames from both sides), the 25s went into the bottom of the 9th leading 5-0. 2 walks, a hit by pitch, 4 singles and a sac fly netted 5 runs to tie, stranding the winning runs on 2nd and 3rd.

Final score 5-5.

For the 35s, the 9th inning hits and RBIs came consecutively from Mike Angelieri, Craig Bundy, Vic Jackson (sac fly), Dan Spoletti and Ed Rossi. For the 25s, Rob Black had the only extra base hit of the game with a double, Jim Nesci and Tony Defazio each collected 2 hits.

Greg Salecker is proud of the effort he gave at the MSBL All-Star game last night. "I was 1-1, BB and scored a run. In fact, my single in the 6th broke up a "no hitter" that was being pitched against us. The game went on to a 5-5 tie before being called after 9 innings. A tie is kinda like "kissing your sister."
