Each team pays for one umpire before game starts. Cost for 7 Inning game is $75 per Ump. Exception: SJMSBL pays for Umpires in Championship Game. Please Note: Teams pay for Umpires in Quarter & Semi Finals

Before game starts (if applicable) visiting team pays home team any fees associated with “ Field Fees”

Regular Season Ends Thursday, August 15. A regular season Game cannot be played after Thursday August 15.

Regular Season = 12 weeks

All Teams play 14 games except the Philadelphia A’s play 15 Games. Teams play 2 games in one week twice during regular season with the exception of the Philadelphia A’s, who plays 2 games in one week 3 times.

Semi-Pro Midweek League Standings 


Shall be determined by A POINT SYSTEM 
- 3 points for a Win 
- 2 points for a Tie 
- 1 point for a loss 
- 0 Points for a loss by forfeit IMPORTANT (Standings will show a team losing by forfeit getting 1 point. This is incorrect and will be properly calculated at the end of season)

1.     Teams have a responsibility to make an effort to make game up

2.     If the rained-out game is not made up, the game is counted as a TIE. Each team is awarded 2 points. The score of the game is 7 for the Home Team  7 for the Visitor team.

Please keep in mind…. The spirit of the SJMSBL is to play Baseball. If a Team “jobs Standings” and does not play scheduled game because 
“Played game” would have no bearing in standings; Team Jobbing the League has the possibility of receiving severe Penalties. Please make every effort to play all of your scheduled games.

CODE OF CONDUCT

 

If a player or Manager gets thrown out of a game. The player or Manager cannot play in next played game. The SJMSBL has ZERO tolerance and this cannot be appealed.

Prohibitions

Managers and players shall conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.  No manager or player shall commit the following:

   1. Lay a hand upon, shove or strike, or threaten an official. Players and managers guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall remain suspended until his conduct is reviewed by the league officials.  Players and managers guilty of such conduct shall be subject to suspension for the remainder of the season or expulsion from the league for life.

1.A. If an umpire feels threatened by a player or fan, or there is a situation with a player the manager is obligated to diffuse the threatening situation. If manager does not diffuse threatening situation manager his actions will be looked at and determined if he risks being suspended from upcoming games.

 

   2. Refuse to abide by an official’s decision.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall remain suspended until his conduct is reviewed by the board of directors.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be subject to probation or suspension for the remainder of the season.
   3.
      Be guilty of objectionable demonstrations of dissent at an official’s decision.  Players and managers guilty of such conduct shall be subject to suspension from further participation in the game.
   4.
      Discuss with an official or officials the decision reached by such official or officials, except for the manager or his designee who are authorized to participate in such discussions.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be subject to suspension from further participation in the game.
   5.
      Use unnecessarily rough tactics in the play of the game against the body or person of an opposing player.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall be subject to probation or suspension for the remainder of the season.
   6.
      Be guilty of physical attack as an aggressor upon any player, manager, official, or spectator, before, during, or after a game.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall remain suspended until their conduct is reviewed by the board of directors.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be subject to suspension for the remainder of the season or expulsion from the league for life.
   7.
      Be guilty of verbal abusive attack upon any player, manager, official, or spectator, before, during, or after a game.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall remain suspended until their conduct is reviewed by the board of directors.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be subject to suspension for the remainder of the season.
   8.
      Consume alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs during the game or be upon the field of play at any time in an intoxicated condition.  Players guilty of such conduct shall be immediately suspended from further participation in the game and shall be subject to probation or suspension for the remainder of the season.

   9.

     Any player or manager who does not cooperate or acts in  subversive behavior towards the league and the framework established by the league are subject to suspension until their conduct is reviewed. Players or Managers found guilty of this behavior, after review will be expelled from the league.
   
Penalties

   1. The board of directors may, by vote of the majority of the directors, suspend any player or manager for such a period and upon such terms as it may propose, for the conduct with in its opinion is prejudicial to the welfare, interest, reputation, or charter of the league.
   2. Except as otherwise provided, the commissioners shall determine the appropriate action required for violations of the codes of conduct, and shall report their decision to the player, manager and the board of directors.
   3. A player found in violation of any provision delineated in the codes of conduct, after being placed on probation for the remainder of the season shall be suspended for the remainder of the season.
   4. Any player found in violation of any provisions delineated in the codes of conduct, after being suspended from further participation in a game shall be suspended for the remainder of the season.
