Mettle Tested  Victor comes back to defeat Massena 4-2 to move on to State Championship Game

End of the 1st period, Victor down 2-0 and being outshot 7-2. Victor rebounded, pressuring Massena early in the 2nd period and finally breaking through as Evan Millspaugh beat a screened Massena goalie to make it 2-1 with a little over 5 minutes remaining in the period (http://pointstreak.com/prostats/gamesheet_full.html?gameid=3299054). Both teams had chances, but the period ended with Massena up 2-1. Victor started the 3rd strong, drawing Massena to take penalties. The first penalty came as Andrew Crean streaked down the left wing on a partial breakaway and was taken down as he broke in to the goalie. It didn’t take long for Josh Albert to capitalize on the power play opportunity as he tied the game up quickly 45 seconds into the third. More penalties hurt Massena as Lukas Miller scored on a two-man advantage, banging in an Evan Millspaugh rebound – Victor up 3-2.  Sam Lambert closed out the game scoring an empty net goal. For the game, Victor converted on 3 of the 10 Massena penalties. Victor plays the winner of the North Rockland/Niagara-Wheatfield game tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, March 11 at 12:00 at Harbor Center in Buffalo for the State Championship title.
