Victor comes away with a win over cross-town rival Canandaigua

This past Tuesday night at the Canandaigua Community Civic Center (CCCC) was the place to be for a loud and raucous high school varsity hockey game!  The Victor Blue Devils made the short ride over to take on their cross-town rivals Canandaigua Braves in a big Section V Hockey Division 2 match-up.   The first period began fast and furious with both high schools' student sections really getting into the game.  The Blue Devils got on the board first with Riley Hauf scoring his second goal of the year with the assist from Roman Czornobil.  A couple of minutes later Josh Albert tallied with another assist coming from Roman.  The Blue Devils' last goal of the 1st period came on the powerplay.  Liam Moore put the biscuit in the basket with the assist coming from Alex Parton.  The game moved onto the second period, and it heated up as the hitting and cheering from both teams and their fans reached another level. Victor Junior goaltender Pieter Bartelse made some great saves between the pipes to help keep his team in the game.  By the end of the second period, no goals were scored by either team and the score remained Victor 3 - Canandaigua 0.  Victor's team play and hard skating worked to their advantage as they scored four more goals in the third period.  Scoring for the Blue Devils were James Tilley, Peter Rydzynski, Josh Albert, and Ryan Briggs.  For Peter and Ryan, these were their first tallies of the year!  Assisting on these goals were Sam Breeson, Roman Czornobil, James Tilley, Steve Armstrong, and Connor Gelabert.  The Blue Devils' defense, skating,  and offense all played a role in their victory.  Victor's next game is on Friday, 12/7/18 at home vs. the Irondequoit Eagles.   The puck drops at 7:30 PM.  Come on out to support and cheer on the boys at their second home game of the 2018-19 season!
