To Westminster BB/SB Parents and Coaches:
Thank you to everyone for your willingness to abide by the ever-changing safety guidelines so our kids have had some normalcy returning to baseball and softball this summer! We love seeing games played at our fields! We also appreciate your patience; coaches and the Board have had to do a lot of extra work and continue to make difficult decisions about player and team safety.
As we head into the last few weeks of play, we want to send you the latest Guidelines we are being asked to follow related to travel. Also, it is critical that we continue to be vigilant about face coverings and social distancing at the park, IN DUGOUTS, and on the field (coaches). As we have seen recently, COVID-19 test turnaround can take 1-14+ days in our area. Safety continues to be our #1 priority. And with playoffs around the corner, we want to prevent seasons from ending early for the wrong reasons. With the Fall Ball season coming up soon what we do on the field from this point on will determine if we play this fall or not.
Travel to MA and Returning from Vacation: Effective since July 1, we are requiring that coaches and players returning from travel to "Restricted States" quarantine. You now have the option to obtain a negative COVID-19 test before returning to team play. Information about the current and updated policy (effective August 1) is below.
Current MA policy is a voluntary self-quarantine for 14 days upon return from states outside of the Northeast: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/travel-information-related-to-covid-19 "All travelers arriving to Massachusetts – including Massachusetts residents returning home – are instructed to self-quarantine for 14 days, except that, beginning July 1, 2020, travelers from Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and New Jersey arriving in Massachusetts are exempt from this directive and need not self-quarantine for 14 days."
Effective August 1, it's a mandatory quarantine and completion of this online form upon or prior to entering MA. "Quarantine for 14 days or produce a negative COVID-19 test result that has been administered up to 72-hours prior to your arrival in Massachusetts. If your COVID-19 test result has not been received prior to arrival, visitors, and residents must quarantine until they receive a negative test result." https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order
