ASE completes un-defeated season, wins City Championship!

With tonight's win over Infinity Sports, ASE has won the city championship 7 of the past 11 seasons, while compiling an incredible 172-16 record over those 11 seasons. While this game wasn't our first city championship win it was as sweet as any of them. This team has been one of the most complete teams I have ever had. We had good players up and down the lineup and a weak spot on this team was hard to find. I'm so very proud of this group and it was a joy to coach them and see them improve as players throughout the season. Let's see how the city championship was won this time.

This one was a short and sweet game. We only batted twice in the 55-minute game. As there were several breaks in the game for injuries, foul balls, etc. While we only batted twice, we made those at bats count that's for sure! After Infinity didn't score in the top of the 1st inning, we would take control in the bottom half of the inning. Azael Ahuyon took over the lead off duties for our team and got things started with a double to left field. Landon Morgan then drove in the first run of the game with a single to right field. Tatum Branham would double to left field and Dasiell Cano drove a ball deep to drive in another run for a 2-0 ASE lead. After Orlando Falcon went down on strikes, Trayce Catlett came thru with a 2-run scoring single to make it a 4-0 game. Carson West would reach on an infield single, but Jadon Davis and Maddux Orr went down swinging to end the inning.

The top of the 2nd would see Infinity score a run on an error by our defense, but a good play by Landon would keep the lead at 4-1 heading into the bottom half of the 2nd inning. Our offense went right back to work. Emerson Scott battled hard at the plate but went down on strikes, but Azael picked his teammate up with a double to left field. Landon would then follow that up with a double of his own and we were right back in business. Run scoring singles by Tatum, Dasiell, Orlando and Trayce gave us a 9-1 lead and this one was all but over.

Infinity did manage to score a couple runs in the top of the 3rd but that would be it. With us holding a 9-3 lead and only 4 minutes left in the game, the umps called the game and ASE had completed a perfect 14-0 season to win the FSBGC Pee Wee League and City Championship. Way to go guys! So super proud of you all. Can't wait to celebrate you guys at our team party in a few weeks. See you all then!

ASE Game 13 - Player of the Game - Trayce Catlett

Our player of the game for our final game of the season is Trayce Catlett. He

saved his best for last as he went 2 for 2 in the game and drove in 3 RBI's.

Trayce has been one of our most consistent hitters all season. He has played

very good on defense in several positions this season. He is a very coachable

kid and glad to have him on our team this year. Great job Trayce, we are very

 proud of you!

ASE advances to City Championship with 12-2 win!

I was a little worried heading into this game since we did not get to play on Monday night and we had not had a full team practice in a while. But the kids were ready in this one and we hit the ball all over the field on our way to a 12-2 win over Sharum. With the forfeit from Shelter on Monday night and tonight's win, we will play Infinity Sports on Thursday evening at 5:30 for the pee wee city championship.

This game started with Sharum getting a run on us early and it could have been more if not for a good play by Carson West to tag out a runner heading to 2nd base. We came to bat behind for the first time in several games. Our kids wasted no time in smacking the ball all over the field. Azael Ahuyon led off with a triple to left field and Landon Morgan would double to tie the game at 1.Jager Archey knocked in Landon and Tatum Branham would hit a long fly ball to centerfield to score Jager for a 3-1 ASE lead. Dasiell Cano then hit a long fly ball to the base of the fence to score Tatum and Orlando Falcon would hit a hard line drive to score Dasiell and just like that we had a 5-1 lead after one inning of play.

The top of the 2nd would see Sharum single after a strikeout. Their next hitter popped out to Landon, who then doubled the player off 1st base for a double play. We would come to bat looking to put the game away early. Trayce Catlett and Carson West would hit back to back doubles and after Maddux Orr went down on strikes, Emerson Scott hit a fly ball to right field to score Carson for a 7-1 ASE lead. Azael then singled but we had a base running blunder that would end our half of the inning with us leading 7-1.

The top of the 3rd would see Tatum throw at a runner at 1st base and a couple of strikeouts would end Sharum's chance to chip away at our lead. The bottom of the 3rd we would put this one away big time. Four straight hits by Jager, Tatum, Dasiell and Orlando would score three runs and we suddenly led 10-1. Maddux then came thru with a 2-run scoring single to make it a 12-1 ASE lead.

Sharum did manage to score a run in the top of the 4th and this one would end with us heading to the city championship with a 12-2 win. Congrats guys! One more win away from a perfect season. Let's go ASE!

ASE Game 12- Player of the Game - Orlando Falcon

Our player of the game for tonight's game versus Sharum is Orlando Falcon. He

had a good game, going 2 for 2 at the plate while driving in two RBI's. Orlando

has really started hitting the ball well for us the last few weeks and has become

one of our better hitters. He always does a good job in the outfield and is a big

reason we are the best pee wee team in the league this year. Orlando is a fun kid

to be around and always has something funny to say. Congrats Orlando, we are

 very proud of you!

ASE Game 11 - Player of the Game - Maddux Orr

Our player of the game for our final league game of the season is Maddux Orr. He

went 1 for 2 at the plate with a good base hit to left field. Maddux also played good

defense in the outfield and has improved each game this season. You would not

think this was his first year to play baseball, but it is. He has done so well this

season and can't wait to see what he will be like next year at this time. Congrats

Maddux, we are very proud of you!

ASE clinches league title with 12-1 win over Sharum!

We completed a perfect league season tonight with a solid 12-1win over a good Sharum team. Sharum was at the top of the league standings with us until they lost last week to Infinity Sports. Tonight's win clinches the league championship for our team for the 8th time in the last 10 years. It was a total team effort tonight!

We came out and jumed on them right away, scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning. Lane, Jager, Dasiell and Orlando would all have RBI singles to give us a 4-0 lead after one full inning of play. Neither tem would score in the 2nd inning but we once again got things rolling in the top of the 3rd. Lane and Jager would get on base and Tatum would knock them in with a long fly ball to deep left field. Dasiell, Orlando and Landon would then each have run scoring hits to give us a 9-0 lead after three full innings of play.

Sharum was able to score a run in the bottom half of the 4th inning, but we would put the game away with 3 more runs in the top of the 5th. The win clinches the league championship and the #1 seed in next week's pee wee city championship tourney.

ASE Game 10 - Player of the Game - Dasiell Cano

Our player of the game for our game versus Simmons 1st was Dasiell Cano.On

a night where we struggled to hit the ball, Dasiell came thru for his team in a big

way. He knocked in the game winning run to lead us to a 6-5 win over a

scrappy Simmons team. Dasiell is such a wonderful kid and is very coachable.

Congrats Dasiell, we are very proud of you!

ASE survives scrappy Simmons 6-5!

Every year there always seems to be a game where we are just not our usual self. Tonight was that game! The first time we played Simmons, we beat them 13-2 and the game was never in doubt. Tonight would be a much different story. We had to play the game on the much bigger Rookie field and it really seemed to throw the kids off, especially at the plate. We had a season high 10 strikeout in the game and was lucky to come away with the win.

We only managed a single run in the first two innings of the game but luckily for us our defense made some plays to keep the game tied at 1. In the top of the 3rd we got our bats going somewhat. We would score three runs behind hits from Azael, Landon and Tatum. Trayce also came thru with a big RBI in the inning. Simmons would come right back with a couple of runs in the bottom of the 3rd and we would hold a 4-3 lead heading into the last inning of play.

Both teams would score a couple of runs in the last inning, as Dasiell came thru with the game winning hit for us. Carson made a great catch at 2nd base to end the game and we would hold on for a slim 6-5 win. The win moves us to 7-0 in league play and 10-0 overall.

ASE Game 9 - Player of the Game - Carson West

Our player of the game for our game versus Infinity Sports is Carson West. Carson

has been one of the leaders of our team all season long and tonight's game would

be no different. He had two hits in the game and drove in a run to help us get

another win. Carson made a good play on defense and has been solid for us all

season at 2nd base. Congrats Carson for being named our player of the game!

ASE moves to 9-0 with win over Infinity Sports

We came out in this one and really hit the ball well all over the field. Infinity Sports must have felt like they had been hit by a train as we jumped on them early in this one. Lane Routh would lead off the game with an inside the park home run and we never looked back from that point. We would score 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning behind hits from Azael, Jager, Tatum, Dasiell and Landon. After one inning of play we led 5-0.

The 2nd inning would see a couple of good plays by our defense. Tatum would snag a hard hit ball and throw to Jager at 1st base for an out. Lane and Jager would team up on a nice play and suddenly we were back up to bat. Orlando would lead off with a double to left field and Jadon would knock him in on a fielders choice. Maddux got the rally going again with a single but would get doubled off 1st base on the next play. Lane hit a hard line drive that was caught by the pitcher, who then caught Maddux off the bag for a double play.

After Infinity failed to score in the top of the 3rd, we would put the game out of reach in the bottom of the inning. The top of our order would come thru again and we would score 4 runs to give us a 11-0 lead. Infinity would score a single run in the top of the 4th and this one would end with a 11-1 ASE win.

ASE Game 8 - Player of the Game - Landon Morgan

Our player of the game for our game versus Midland is Landon Morgan. His defense

in this game was awesome. He made several good plays at shortstop and was a big

reason we were able to keep a good hitting Midland team at bay. Landon also went 1

for 2 at the plate while driving in 2 runs. Landon is a great kid and very coachable.

Congrats Landon for being named our player of the game!

ASE defense leads way to win over Midland 9-3!

This was a battle of two teams at the top of the league standings. Midland has not lost a game since we beat them 13-2 in the first pre-season game back in early May. They have been beating everyone pretty bad because they have really started hitting the ball well. I knew tonight would be a great test for our defense, especially since we haven't been able to practice in two weeks because of all the rain. Let's see how this one went down.

We sure didn't start well in this one. We came to bat in the top of the 1st and would see Lane Routh get us going with a base hit, but then we had three straight strikeouts from Landon, Jager and Tatum. That has not happened all season. Midland would not be able to get anything going in the bottom half because of a couple of really good plays by our defense. Lane would throw a kid out at 1st base and then Landon and Jager would team up to tag a kid out in a rundown to end the 1st inning with the score still at 0-0.

The top of the 2nd would see us get our bats going. Dasiell Cano did go down on strikes but Azael Ahuyon and Carson West would pick him up with back to back singles. Trayce Catlett would single to drive in a run and Orlando Falcon would do the same to give us a 2-0 lead. Jadon Davis went down on strikes and Maddox Orr would hit into a force play to end our half of the inning. Midland would manage a run in the bottom half of the inning but once again a couple of good plays from our defense would keep Midland from scoring more.

The top of the 3rd we would put this game away! Emerson Scott led off with an infield single and Lane would do the same. Landon would single to left field scoring Emerson for a 3-1 ASE lead. Jager would then reach on an infield single and Tatum Branham would clear the bases with a long fly ball to deep left field to give us a 6-1 lead. Dasiell would knock in our 5th run of the inning with a single to make it a 7-1 ASE lead. We would cruise the rest of the way. Midland did manage to score a couple more runs but so did we. The battle for 1st place would go to ASE 9-3!

ASE Game 6 - Player of the Game - Azael Ahuyon

Our player of the game for our game versus Jeff's Clubhouse is Azael Ahuyon.

He had a great night at the plate, going 2 for 2 with an inside the park home run

and a single. Azael also drove in three runs in the game. He has really

improved a ton since last season and has become one of our best hitters. Azael

also does a really good job in centerfield for our team. Congrats Azael, we are

 very proud of you!

ASE breaks out big bats in 14-1 rout!

This game was not close after the 1st inning, as we hit the ball really well in this one. Jeff's Clubhouse is a very young team with only two second year players, while we have seven. The result would be another easy win for ASE, moving our record to 6-0 on the season with a 14-1 win.

Jeff's did not score in the top of the 1st and our bats went right to work. Lane Routh led off with a pop fly out to the 1st baseman. Landon Morgan would pick him up with an infield single. Jager Archey then hit his 3rd home run of the season with a hard hit ball up the middle that went all the way to the wall. Just like that it was a 2-0 ASE lead. Tatum Branham would reach on an infield single but Dasiell Cano would go down on strikes. Azael Ahuyon then would come thru with a huge hit, as he lined a hard shot up the middle and used his speed to hustle around the bases for a home run. After Carson West singled, Trayce Catlett went down on strikes to end the inning with us holding a 4-0 lead.

Jeff's was not able to get anything going in the top of the 2nd, so we came up with hopes of putting this game away early. We did that in a big way! Emerson Scott would get the rally started with a single to right field. Maddux Orr would then double and we were back in business. Jadon Davis would drive in both runners with a single up the middle. Orlando Falcon reached on an infield single and Lane would hit a line drive to left field to score both Jadon and Orlando. Lane used a throwing error to come all the way around for our third inside the park home run of the game. After two full innings of play, we led 9-0.

Jeff's did manage to get a couple of hits in the top of the 3rd inning and was able to score a run against our stingy defense. Could have been more but good plays on defense by Landon and Lane would keep the score 9-1 with the top of our order due to bat in the bottom half of the inning. With a 8 run lead we just wanted to go one base at a time for a couple of reasons. It gave us a chance to get more of our players at bats, but also a chance to not run up the score worse than it already was. Part one of our plan worked, as we would send 10 batters to the plate in the inning. But Jeff's could not keep us from scoring and this one would end with us notching a 14-1 victory. The win moves us to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in league play.

ASE Game 5 - Player of the Game - Jadon Davis

Our player of the game for our game tonight versus Shelter-Wagoner

was Jadon Davis. Jadon went 2 for 2 at the plate tonight, knocking in 2

runs in helping us cruise to the 13-1 win. Jadon also did better paying

attention in the field even though he didn't have a single ball hit to him.

Jadon is a bundle of energy and is a great kid. He is willing to learn and

be coached, that is if you can get him still long enough. Congrats, Jadon,

we are very proud of you!

ASE cruises to 13-1 win over Shelter-Wagoner!

This was a game of teams going in two different directions. We are a team with a lot of 2nd year players, while Shelter has mostly 1st year kids. They have struggled to score runs in all their games. They have only scored two runs all season long so far. Tonight would not be much better for them as we cruised to a 13-1 win. There is not much to write about on their end in this one. The only inning they managed to get a runner on base was in the 2nd inning in which they did score a run.

It was not our best night at the plate to say the least. We did put the ball in play and only had 5 strikeouts in the game, but we didn't hit the ball out of the infield much at all. We would score 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, mostly on infield singles. Shelter's defense was not good at all, so all we had to do was put the ball in play and we got on base. Landon, Azael, Dasiell and Trayce all had run scoring singles in the 1st inning to give us a 4-0 lead.

In the 2nd inning, Shelter did manage to score a run but a good play by Lane and Jager kept them from scoring more. The bottom of the inning we would put the game away. Jadon got us going with a single, so Lane and Landon would do the same to load the bases for Jager. He then hit a deep fly ball that landed at the base of the fence to score all 3 runs for a 8-1 ASE lead. Azael would groundout to the 1st baseman to end the inning.

The 3rd would see Shelter not do anything once again and we came to bat looking to add to our lead. Dasiell and Carson would single and Trayce hit a ball past the 1st baseman to score Dasiell. After Emerson went down on strikes, Maddux would reach on an infield single. Orlando went down on strikes, but Jadon picked him up with a 2-run scoring single to make it a 11-0 ASE lead. Lane would then reach on an infield single of his own, while Landon and Jager both had RBI's to give us our 5th run of the inning and extend our lead to 13-1. That's the way this one would end with us notching our 5th win of the season. Thru 5 games we have outscored our opponents 58-10. See you all at practice on Wednesday at 5:30.

ASE Game 4 - Player of the Game - Tatum Branham

Our player of the game for our game versus McDonalds is Tatum Branham.

Tatum had a really good game, especially on defense. He made a really good

play on a hard hit ball in the 2nd inning and threw a kid out at 1st base. Then in

the 1st inning he received a really good throw from Maddux in left field to tag

another runner out. He also went 1-2 at the plate with a good hit to left field.

Tatum has really improved since last year and is a fun kid to be around and

coach. Congrats Tatum, we are very proud of you!

No "Happy Meal" for McDonalds tonight!

Well it may not have been pretty at times, it still got the job done. On a cold, muddy night at Goldtrap, ASE moved to 4-0 on the season with a 7-1 win over McDonalds. It was our first conference game of the season and while we didn't hit the ball the way we are capable of, we still manage to cruise to the win. McDonalds came into the game winning their first three games by an easy margin just as we had. But on this night they would run into a pretty good ASE team.

The top of the 1st would see McDonalds first two batters go down swinging. After a single, their cleanup batter would hit a long fly ball to left field. Maddux Orr would make a good play on the ball and throw a perfect strike to Tatum Branham at 3rd base to tag out the runner trying to advance there. We would come to bat in the bottom of the inning ready to hit. Lane Routh would lead us off with an inside the park home run on a hard hit ball to left field. He would take advantage of a throwing error to round the bases and give us a 1-0 lead. Landon Morgan went down on strikes because I didn't give him but one good pitch to hit. Sorry Landon! Jager Archey and Tatum would then hit back to back singles and we were in business. Azael Ahuyon would then hit a line drive to the 1st baseman, who caught the ball and doubled Tatum off 1st base.

The top of the 2nd inning would see our defense shine again. McDonalds would reach on a couple of infield singles surrounded by a couple of strikeouts. Tatum then threw a kid out at 1st base on a hard hit ball to end their half of the inning. Dasiell Cano would get our rally going in the bottom of the 2nd inning as he would triple to the outfield. Trace Catlett would then groundout to the 1st baseman but Dasiell would score on the play for a 2-0 ASE lead. Carson West then doubled to right field and Emerson Scott would drive him home with a fly ball to right field. Maddux would go down swinging, but Orlando Falcon picked him up with a run scoring single to give us a 4-0 lead. Jadon Davis would foul several balls off before going down on strikes to end the inning with us holding a 4-0 lead.

McDonalds was able to manage a run in the top of the 3rd but our defense didn't allow any more than that. Lane and Jager would team up on a nice play and Carson would force a kid out at 2nd. We would come to bat in the bottom of the 3rd with hopes of putting this game away. Lane and Landon would reach on infield singles and Jager hit a rocket to left field scoring both runs for a 6-1 ASE lead. Tatum went down on strikes and Azael popped out to the 1st baseman again. Dasiell came thru in a big way with a 2-out single, driving in Jager to make the score 7-1.

The top of the 4th would see McDonalds struggle to get anything going and the game was called due to the time limit. The win moves us to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play. We return to action on Monday evening at 5:30. See you all then!

ASE Game 3 - Player of the Game - Emerson Scott

The player of the game in our third game of the season was a pretty easy one.

Emerson Scott did something that I have not seen in 20 years of coaching in our

league. What is that you ask? He threw two kids out at 1st base from his catchers

position and got us out of a couple of jams in the process. In this league you just

don't see catchers throw kids out at 1st. Most teams put their worst players at that

position in our league. Not us though, we like to put a good player back there and

we did that with Emerson. While he didn't get a hit in the game, his defense was

awesome and helped us get the big win tonight. Great job Emerson, we are very

 proud of you!

ASE moves to 3-0 with win over Infinity Sports

ASE wrapped up a good week of baseball with a 13-6 win over Infinity Sports on Thursday night. It was a fun game with a lot of action on the bases and for a while this one was close. Let's see how it all went down.

The top of the 1st we got our offense going with a single by Lane Routh and a run scoring double by Landon Morgan. Tatum Branham would keep the rally going with a deep fly ball, scoring Landon for a 2-0 ASE lead. Azael Ahuyon and Dasiell Cano would reach on infield singles and Carson West would knock a couple of runs in with a double to left field. Trayce, Emerson and Maddux all went down on strikes and we would leave Carson stranded on the bases. Infinity came out hitting the ball as well and came right back at us. They would reach on a couple of errors by our defense and then the flood gates would open. They would single us to death in the inning on their way to a 5-4 early lead in this one.

It would be the first time we had been behind in any of our first three games. But we wouldn't be behind long. Orlando Falcon would single to get our rally going. After a Jadon Davis strikeout, Lane would single and so did Landon. Tatum then knocked in a run with a single and Azael would do the same. Dasiell, Carson and Trayce would then all hit run scoring singles to give us a 9-5 lead. Infinity came right back at us in the bottom of the inning. They would score a run on a couple of hits, but Emerson Scott cut their rally short with a great play from his catcher's position for the final out of the inning.

After a scoreless 3rd inning, we would put the game away in the 4th inning with 4 more runs to make this a 13-6 ASE win. We move to 3-0 on the season. We scored 38 runs this week, while only giving up 8. It was a good week for ASE!

ASE Game 2 - Player of the Game - Lane Routh

Our player of the game for our second game of the season is Lane Routh. He had a

really good game against Simmons, going 3 for 3 while scoring two runs and knocking

in one RBI. Lane also made a couple of nice plays at pitcher to keep Simmons from

scoring more than two runs in the game. Lane is a great kid and is really fun to coach.

He loves the game and it shows by the way he plays. Great job Lane, we are very

 proud of you

ASE slams Simmons Bank 13-2!

We got the first game jitters out of the way on Monday night. On Tuesday we came out and jumped on Simmons Bank and never looked back. The top of the 1st, Lane Routh got things going with a single up the middle. After Landon Morgan went down on strikes, Jager Archey doubled to give us a 1-0 lead. Tatum Branham would go down swinging, but Azael Ahuyon picked him up with a run scoring single to give us a 2-0 lead. Carson West would double to score Azael and Trayce Catlett would reach on an infield single. Emerson Scott would make the final out of the inning with a strikeout, but we had an early 3-0 lead.

Simmons would get a couple of base hits surrounded by a couple of strikeouts. They would have scored a run on their next hit, but Lane would make a nice play to end their hope of scoring in the inning. The top of the 2nd inning would see our offense really come to life and put this game away. Maddux Orr would single and after an Orlando Falcon strikeout, Jadon Davis would single to score Maddux. Lane would then reach on an infield single and Landon hit a rocket to left field, scoring two runs for a 5-0 ASE lead. Jager and Tatum would then both hit balls to deep left field and used a couple of throwing errors to come all the way around for back to back home runs and a 8-0 lead. Simmons would get their offense going in the bottom of the inning as they would hit back to back inside the park home runs. Our defense would then make a couple of good plays to keep them from putting anymore runs on the board.

The top of the 3rd we would put the final nail in the coffin with another 5-run inning. Azael would get things going with a single and Trayce would then hit a deep ball to right field. He would use his speed to come all the way around for an inside the park home run. Maddux and Orlando would then reach base and Jadon would get his second hit of the game with an RBI single. Lane and Landon would also have run scoring singles and we would lead 13-2. Simmons managed a couple of hits in the bottom of the 3rd but our defense kept them off the board and the time limit would expire. We would notch our second win of the season with the 13-2 win.

ASE Game 1 - Player of the Game - Jager Archey

Our player of the game for our opening game of the season is Jager Archey. He

had a great night with 5 runs batted in, while going 3 for 3. He also played a great

game at 1st base. Jager is a fun young man to be around and coach. He is a really

good ball player but an even better kid. Congrats on a great game Jager!

ASE buries Midland UMC 12-0!

You never know what the first game of the season will bring. We have looked pretty good in practice and I was hoping we could bring that to the game. We did that in a big way tonight as we blasted a Midland team from Stephens 12-0 for our first win of the season.

The top of the 1st inning was a little rough, more so for the pitcher....me! I did not give the boys very many good pitches to hit as Lane would strikeout to begin the game. Landon Morgan would single to get a small rally going and Jager Archey would then triple to give us a 1-0 lead. After Tatum Branham popped out to the 2nd baseman, Azael Ahuyon would go down on strikes to end our half of the 1st inning. Midland wasn't able to get anything going in the bottom of the inning and we came to bat with a 1-0 lead. Carson West would go down on strikes and Trayce Catlett would line out to 1st base. Suddenly there were two outs and it looked as if it would remain 1-0. Not so fast..... as Dasiell Cano and Maddux Orr would both single to get the rally started. Orlando Falcon would then single to score a run and Emerson Scott would double to give us a 4-0 lead. Jadon Davis fought hard but went down on strikes to end our half of the inning.

Midland would get a hit to lead off the bottom of the inning but Lane and Jager would team up for an out on their next ball in play. Their final two batters of the inning went down on strikes. The top of the 3rd inning we would put the game away. Lane and Landon would single and Jager would knock both in with a double to left field. Tatum would single to left field to score Jager and Azael would reach on an infield single. Carson would then double to score two more runs to give us a 9-0 lead and this one was all but over.

We would keep Midland from scoring with several good plays by our infield. We would score three more runs late in the game to make it a 12-0 final.

ASE ready for 2019 season

Heading into the 2019 FSBGC pee wee baseball season, ASE has its eyes on a

run at another City Championship. We have 7 players back from last year's

league championship team. We did lose a close one in the City Tourney Semi

Finals to A to Z Sports. ASE has won the city championship 6 of the past 10

seasons, while compiling an incredible 158-16 record over those ten seasons.

While the winning is fun, the thing that makes me the most proud is the fact our players always have a blast and become better baseball players. We really take pride in their time on our team being a great boys & girls club experience for them. I really look forward to the 2019 season with a great group of kids. See you all on the field!

Bat rules for 2019 season

usa bat.jpg

Your child may use what is referred to as a "big barrel" bat this season in our league. The bat must have a barrel that is no bigger than 2-5/8". A perfect length for their age would be anywhere from 27-29 inches long and weight about 17-20 ounces. A big barrel bat is a real advantage to the hitters.

Also the bat MUST be stamped with USA BASEBALL or it can't be used in our league!

These can be purchased at Academy Sports or Dick's Sporting goods. Online you can get them at numerous sites but one of the best ones is Baseballexpress.com. Here is a link to the USA bats on their site:

Welcome to our ASE Team Site

This is a site for players, parents and fans of the ASE Pee Wee Baseball Team of Goldtrap/Gardner Boys & Girls Club in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Our mission is to teach the kids solid baseball fundamentals that will enable them to improve their skills and enjoyment of the game. We will attempt to be competitive in all our games, but our #1 goal is for the kids to have fun, whether we win or lose. Our second goal is to develop an understanding of the importance of being a TEAM. We want them to know that we win as a team and we lose as a team. Enjoy the site!
