ASE Game 6 - Player of the Game - Azael Ahuyon
Our player of the game for our game versus Jeff's Clubhouse is Azael Ahuyon.
He had a great night at the plate, going 2 for 2 with an inside the park home run
and a single. Azael also drove in three runs in the game. He has really
improved a ton since last season and has become one of our best hitters. Azael
also does a really good job in centerfield for our team. Congrats Azael, we are
very proud of you!
ASE breaks out big bats in 14-1 rout!
This game was not close after the 1st inning, as we hit the ball really well in this one. Jeff's Clubhouse is a very young team with only two second year players, while we have seven. The result would be another easy win for ASE, moving our record to 6-0 on the season with a 14-1 win.
Jeff's did not score in the top of the 1st and our bats went right to work. Lane Routh led off with a pop fly out to the 1st baseman. Landon Morgan would pick him up with an infield single. Jager Archey then hit his 3rd home run of the season with a hard hit ball up the middle that went all the way to the wall. Just like that it was a 2-0 ASE lead. Tatum Branham would reach on an infield single but Dasiell Cano would go down on strikes. Azael Ahuyon then would come thru with a huge hit, as he lined a hard shot up the middle and used his speed to hustle around the bases for a home run. After Carson West singled, Trayce Catlett went down on strikes to end the inning with us holding a 4-0 lead.
Jeff's was not able to get anything going in the top of the 2nd, so we came up with hopes of putting this game away early. We did that in a big way! Emerson Scott would get the rally started with a single to right field. Maddux Orr would then double and we were back in business. Jadon Davis would drive in both runners with a single up the middle. Orlando Falcon reached on an infield single and Lane would hit a line drive to left field to score both Jadon and Orlando. Lane used a throwing error to come all the way around for our third inside the park home run of the game. After two full innings of play, we led 9-0.
Jeff's did manage to get a couple of hits in the top of the 3rd inning and was able to score a run against our stingy defense. Could have been more but good plays on defense by Landon and Lane would keep the score 9-1 with the top of our order due to bat in the bottom half of the inning. With a 8 run lead we just wanted to go one base at a time for a couple of reasons. It gave us a chance to get more of our players at bats, but also a chance to not run up the score worse than it already was. Part one of our plan worked, as we would send 10 batters to the plate in the inning. But Jeff's could not keep us from scoring and this one would end with us notching a 14-1 victory. The win moves us to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in league play.

ASE Game 5 - Player of the Game - Jadon Davis
Our player of the game for our game tonight versus Shelter-Wagoner
was Jadon Davis. Jadon went 2 for 2 at the plate tonight, knocking in 2
runs in helping us cruise to the 13-1 win. Jadon also did better paying
attention in the field even though he didn't have a single ball hit to him.
Jadon is a bundle of energy and is a great kid. He is willing to learn and
be coached, that is if you can get him still long enough. Congrats, Jadon,
we are very proud of you!
ASE cruises to 13-1 win over Shelter-Wagoner!
This was a game of teams going in two different directions. We are a team with a lot of 2nd year players, while Shelter has mostly 1st year kids. They have struggled to score runs in all their games. They have only scored two runs all season long so far. Tonight would not be much better for them as we cruised to a 13-1 win. There is not much to write about on their end in this one. The only inning they managed to get a runner on base was in the 2nd inning in which they did score a run.
It was not our best night at the plate to say the least. We did put the ball in play and only had 5 strikeouts in the game, but we didn't hit the ball out of the infield much at all. We would score 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, mostly on infield singles. Shelter's defense was not good at all, so all we had to do was put the ball in play and we got on base. Landon, Azael, Dasiell and Trayce all had run scoring singles in the 1st inning to give us a 4-0 lead.
In the 2nd inning, Shelter did manage to score a run but a good play by Lane and Jager kept them from scoring more. The bottom of the inning we would put the game away. Jadon got us going with a single, so Lane and Landon would do the same to load the bases for Jager. He then hit a deep fly ball that landed at the base of the fence to score all 3 runs for a 8-1 ASE lead. Azael would groundout to the 1st baseman to end the inning.
The 3rd would see Shelter not do anything once again and we came to bat looking to add to our lead. Dasiell and Carson would single and Trayce hit a ball past the 1st baseman to score Dasiell. After Emerson went down on strikes, Maddux would reach on an infield single. Orlando went down on strikes, but Jadon picked him up with a 2-run scoring single to make it a 11-0 ASE lead. Lane would then reach on an infield single of his own, while Landon and Jager both had RBI's to give us our 5th run of the inning and extend our lead to 13-1. That's the way this one would end with us notching our 5th win of the season. Thru 5 games we have outscored our opponents 58-10. See you all at practice on Wednesday at 5:30.
ASE Game 4 - Player of the Game - Tatum Branham
Our player of the game for our game versus McDonalds is Tatum Branham.
Tatum had a really good game, especially on defense. He made a really good
play on a hard hit ball in the 2nd inning and threw a kid out at 1st base. Then in
the 1st inning he received a really good throw from Maddux in left field to tag
another runner out. He also went 1-2 at the plate with a good hit to left field.
Tatum has really improved since last year and is a fun kid to be around and
coach. Congrats Tatum, we are very proud of you!
No "Happy Meal" for McDonalds tonight!
Well it may not have been pretty at times, it still got the job done. On a cold, muddy night at Goldtrap, ASE moved to 4-0 on the season with a 7-1 win over McDonalds. It was our first conference game of the season and while we didn't hit the ball the way we are capable of, we still manage to cruise to the win. McDonalds came into the game winning their first three games by an easy margin just as we had. But on this night they would run into a pretty good ASE team.
The top of the 1st would see McDonalds first two batters go down swinging. After a single, their cleanup batter would hit a long fly ball to left field. Maddux Orr would make a good play on the ball and throw a perfect strike to Tatum Branham at 3rd base to tag out the runner trying to advance there. We would come to bat in the bottom of the inning ready to hit. Lane Routh would lead us off with an inside the park home run on a hard hit ball to left field. He would take advantage of a throwing error to round the bases and give us a 1-0 lead. Landon Morgan went down on strikes because I didn't give him but one good pitch to hit. Sorry Landon! Jager Archey and Tatum would then hit back to back singles and we were in business. Azael Ahuyon would then hit a line drive to the 1st baseman, who caught the ball and doubled Tatum off 1st base.
The top of the 2nd inning would see our defense shine again. McDonalds would reach on a couple of infield singles surrounded by a couple of strikeouts. Tatum then threw a kid out at 1st base on a hard hit ball to end their half of the inning. Dasiell Cano would get our rally going in the bottom of the 2nd inning as he would triple to the outfield. Trace Catlett would then groundout to the 1st baseman but Dasiell would score on the play for a 2-0 ASE lead. Carson West then doubled to right field and Emerson Scott would drive him home with a fly ball to right field. Maddux would go down swinging, but Orlando Falcon picked him up with a run scoring single to give us a 4-0 lead. Jadon Davis would foul several balls off before going down on strikes to end the inning with us holding a 4-0 lead.
McDonalds was able to manage a run in the top of the 3rd but our defense didn't allow any more than that. Lane and Jager would team up on a nice play and Carson would force a kid out at 2nd. We would come to bat in the bottom of the 3rd with hopes of putting this game away. Lane and Landon would reach on infield singles and Jager hit a rocket to left field scoring both runs for a 6-1 ASE lead. Tatum went down on strikes and Azael popped out to the 1st baseman again. Dasiell came thru in a big way with a 2-out single, driving in Jager to make the score 7-1.
The top of the 4th would see McDonalds struggle to get anything going and the game was called due to the time limit. The win moves us to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play. We return to action on Monday evening at 5:30. See you all then!
ASE Game 3 - Player of the Game - Emerson Scott
The player of the game in our third game of the season was a pretty easy one.
Emerson Scott did something that I have not seen in 20 years of coaching in our
league. What is that you ask? He threw two kids out at 1st base from his catchers
position and got us out of a couple of jams in the process. In this league you just
don't see catchers throw kids out at 1st. Most teams put their worst players at that
position in our league. Not us though, we like to put a good player back there and
we did that with Emerson. While he didn't get a hit in the game, his defense was
awesome and helped us get the big win tonight. Great job Emerson, we are very
proud of you!
ASE moves to 3-0 with win over Infinity Sports
ASE wrapped up a good week of baseball with a 13-6 win over Infinity Sports on Thursday night. It was a fun game with a lot of action on the bases and for a while this one was close. Let's see how it all went down.
The top of the 1st we got our offense going with a single by Lane Routh and a run scoring double by Landon Morgan. Tatum Branham would keep the rally going with a deep fly ball, scoring Landon for a 2-0 ASE lead. Azael Ahuyon and Dasiell Cano would reach on infield singles and Carson West would knock a couple of runs in with a double to left field. Trayce, Emerson and Maddux all went down on strikes and we would leave Carson stranded on the bases. Infinity came out hitting the ball as well and came right back at us. They would reach on a couple of errors by our defense and then the flood gates would open. They would single us to death in the inning on their way to a 5-4 early lead in this one.
It would be the first time we had been behind in any of our first three games. But we wouldn't be behind long. Orlando Falcon would single to get our rally going. After a Jadon Davis strikeout, Lane would single and so did Landon. Tatum then knocked in a run with a single and Azael would do the same. Dasiell, Carson and Trayce would then all hit run scoring singles to give us a 9-5 lead. Infinity came right back at us in the bottom of the inning. They would score a run on a couple of hits, but Emerson Scott cut their rally short with a great play from his catcher's position for the final out of the inning.
After a scoreless 3rd inning, we would put the game away in the 4th inning with 4 more runs to make this a 13-6 ASE win. We move to 3-0 on the season. We scored 38 runs this week, while only giving up 8. It was a good week for ASE!
ASE Game 2 - Player of the Game - Lane Routh
Our player of the game for our second game of the season is Lane Routh. He had a
really good game against Simmons, going 3 for 3 while scoring two runs and knocking
in one RBI. Lane also made a couple of nice plays at pitcher to keep Simmons from
scoring more than two runs in the game. Lane is a great kid and is really fun to coach.
He loves the game and it shows by the way he plays. Great job Lane, we are very
proud of you
ASE slams Simmons Bank 13-2!
We got the first game jitters out of the way on Monday night. On Tuesday we came out and jumped on Simmons Bank and never looked back. The top of the 1st, Lane Routh got things going with a single up the middle. After Landon Morgan went down on strikes, Jager Archey doubled to give us a 1-0 lead. Tatum Branham would go down swinging, but Azael Ahuyon picked him up with a run scoring single to give us a 2-0 lead. Carson West would double to score Azael and Trayce Catlett would reach on an infield single. Emerson Scott would make the final out of the inning with a strikeout, but we had an early 3-0 lead.
Simmons would get a couple of base hits surrounded by a couple of strikeouts. They would have scored a run on their next hit, but Lane would make a nice play to end their hope of scoring in the inning. The top of the 2nd inning would see our offense really come to life and put this game away. Maddux Orr would single and after an Orlando Falcon strikeout, Jadon Davis would single to score Maddux. Lane would then reach on an infield single and Landon hit a rocket to left field, scoring two runs for a 5-0 ASE lead. Jager and Tatum would then both hit balls to deep left field and used a couple of throwing errors to come all the way around for back to back home runs and a 8-0 lead. Simmons would get their offense going in the bottom of the inning as they would hit back to back inside the park home runs. Our defense would then make a couple of good plays to keep them from putting anymore runs on the board.
The top of the 3rd we would put the final nail in the coffin with another 5-run inning. Azael would get things going with a single and Trayce would then hit a deep ball to right field. He would use his speed to come all the way around for an inside the park home run. Maddux and Orlando would then reach base and Jadon would get his second hit of the game with an RBI single. Lane and Landon would also have run scoring singles and we would lead 13-2. Simmons managed a couple of hits in the bottom of the 3rd but our defense kept them off the board and the time limit would expire. We would notch our second win of the season with the 13-2 win.
ASE Game 1 - Player of the Game - Jager Archey
Our player of the game for our opening game of the season is Jager Archey. He
had a great night with 5 runs batted in, while going 3 for 3. He also played a great
game at 1st base. Jager is a fun young man to be around and coach. He is a really
good ball player but an even better kid. Congrats on a great game Jager!
ASE buries Midland UMC 12-0!
You never know what the first game of the season will bring. We have looked pretty good in practice and I was hoping we could bring that to the game. We did that in a big way tonight as we blasted a Midland team from Stephens 12-0 for our first win of the season.
The top of the 1st inning was a little rough, more so for the pitcher....me! I did not give the boys very many good pitches to hit as Lane would strikeout to begin the game. Landon Morgan would single to get a small rally going and Jager Archey would then triple to give us a 1-0 lead. After Tatum Branham popped out to the 2nd baseman, Azael Ahuyon would go down on strikes to end our half of the 1st inning. Midland wasn't able to get anything going in the bottom of the inning and we came to bat with a 1-0 lead. Carson West would go down on strikes and Trayce Catlett would line out to 1st base. Suddenly there were two outs and it looked as if it would remain 1-0. Not so fast..... as Dasiell Cano and Maddux Orr would both single to get the rally started. Orlando Falcon would then single to score a run and Emerson Scott would double to give us a 4-0 lead. Jadon Davis fought hard but went down on strikes to end our half of the inning.
Midland would get a hit to lead off the bottom of the inning but Lane and Jager would team up for an out on their next ball in play. Their final two batters of the inning went down on strikes. The top of the 3rd inning we would put the game away. Lane and Landon would single and Jager would knock both in with a double to left field. Tatum would single to left field to score Jager and Azael would reach on an infield single. Carson would then double to score two more runs to give us a 9-0 lead and this one was all but over.
We would keep Midland from scoring with several good plays by our infield. We would score three more runs late in the game to make it a 12-0 final.
ASE Schedule Released

Also, please remember to have your child at the field 30 minutes before scheduled game time.
ASE ready for 2019 season
Heading into the 2019 FSBGC pee wee baseball season, ASE has its eyes on a
run at another City Championship. We have 7 players back from last year's
league championship team. We did lose a close one in the City Tourney Semi
Finals to A to Z Sports. ASE has won the city championship 6 of the past 10
seasons, while compiling an incredible 158-16 record over those ten seasons.
While the winning is fun, the thing that makes me the most proud is the fact our players always have a blast and become better baseball players. We really take pride in their time on our team being a great boys & girls club experience for them. I really look forward to the 2019 season with a great group of kids. See you all on the field!
Bat rules for 2019 season
Your child may use what is referred to as a "big barrel" bat this season in our league. The bat must have a barrel that is no bigger than 2-5/8". A perfect length for their age would be anywhere from 27-29 inches long and weight about 17-20 ounces. A big barrel bat is a real advantage to the hitters.
These can be purchased at Academy Sports or Dick's Sporting goods. Online you can get them at numerous sites but one of the best ones is Baseballexpress.com. Here is a link to the USA bats on their site:
