Playoff Game 5 - LEAFS AND FLYERS FINISH OFF SEASON
A 4 to 1 loss to the Flyers has completed the Leafs season. The season went fast and hopefully we all had fun and learned somethings. We have our year end party April 4th and we will see everyone there! Please wear your Leafs shirt and come to party
Playoff Game 4 - POWERFUL STARS TOO MUCH FOR LEAFS
The Leafs gave it a good effort against the Stars but came up short in the game. The lose takes the Leafs out of Super Saturday and with one game remaining we will give it our best again
Playoff Game 3 - LEAFS AND BRUINS BATTLE TO THE END
A very well played game by both teams along with fantastic goaltending at both ends resulted in a 3 to 3 tie game for the Leafs and Bruins. The Leafs players left everything they had on the ice and that's all we ask for. With the tie we are still alive for super Saturday but it will take 2 wins against some tough teams and some help to get in.
Playoff Game 2 -LOSS VS DOGS HAS LEAFS IN TOUGH
The Dogs came out to play in the Leafs 2nd playoff game and that had the Leafs playing catch up all game long, Some tough breaks for the Leafs and some timely Luck by the Dogs resulted in a 7 to 3 game. Going into the last 3 games the Leafs must have their "A" game to keep hope for a championship chance
Playoff Game 1 - LEAFS AND SENS OPEN PLAYOFFS
Starting the playoffs the Leafs and Sens played a very tight and hard fought game, The Goaltending at both ends of the rink was fantastic and that kept scoring low. The final was a 2 to 2 tie and a point each in the standings. 4 more games remain in the Super Saturday quest!
Game 18 - LEAFS AND FLYERS SKATE TO A 4 TO 4 TIE TO END REGULAR SEASON
The Leafs will now head into the playoffs after a well played hard fought tie vs the Flyers, The playoffs are a 5 game round robin with the top 2 teams advancing to Super Saturday. Lets make sure we work extremely hard every game so we give our team a chance to be there!!!
Game 17 - STARS SCORE EARLY AND OFTEN VS LEAFS
Saturday just was not the Leafs day. The Stars came out hard and fast, scored early and continued to keep the game out of reach for the Leafs. The final was 9 to 3. On a positive note #2 Jonathan scored his 1st goal of his Hockey life and was extremely proud as we all were! Next game is our last before the playoffs start so lets forget this one and move forward.
Game 16 - SHORT BENCH FOR LEAFS VS BULLDOGS
Having only 11 skaters the Leafs played hard and were in the lead most of the game vs the Bulldogs, When the mid point of the 3rd hit the Leafs legs became very heavy and that allowed the Bulldogs to score a couple goals and take the lead. The final was 6 to 5 for the Dogs. The effort from the 11 players and goalie Zach was excellent! Playoffs are just around the corner so lets practice hard tomorrow and keep up the hard work
Game 15 - EXCELLENT EFFORT AND ATTACK BY THE LEAFS
This time around vs the Sens the Leafs came to play attacking them for 3 periods and playing hard almost every shift. Strong Defensive play ALL 6 Blue liners had the Sens scratching their heads and the forwards kept coming and coming with an offensive attack that lead to 5 goals. the Final being a 5 to 2 win for Leafs. Great job players.
Game 14 - LEAFS START 2013 WITH A HARD FOUGHT WIN
Playing the very tough Flyers to open the new year the Leafs battled hard and along with very solid Goaltending by Zach were able to come away with a 5 to 2 victory. Many players were on the plus side which is a great thing because that always means something good happened. Lets try and keep the hard work next week!
Game 13 - LEAFS HEAD INTO CHRISTMAS BREAK
Vs the Stars in thier last game before the Christmas break the Leafs were not at their best and although they had spots of pressure during the game they weren't able to capitalize and it resulted in a 4 to 2 loss. We will take this break to regroup a bit and get back at it in the new year. EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY
Game 12 - BACK AND FORTH ! THE BRUINS AND LEAFS TRADE GOALS
An excitement packed high flying scoring attack by both teams Saturday had the game going back and forth! With only seconds remaining on the curfew clock the Bruins were able to score their 7th goal which turned out to be the winning goal as the Leafs were not given the chance to tie the game back up. the final was 7 to 6. Overall it wasn't a bad game for the Leafs but when you allow 7 goals against there is always some room for improvement. Lets work hard at practice tomorrow.
Game 11 - LEAFS KEEP HARD WORK GOING
Playing their 3rd straight well played game the Leafs out battled the Bulldogs and watched the final seconds tick down on the clock before celebrating a 5 to 4 win. Strong efforts by our Defense again along with some hard skating and positional play by the forwards lead the Leafs to victory. Great job lets stay on the path we are going down right now.
Games 9 & 10 - TWO SOLID EFFORTS BY LEAFS THIS WEEKEND
Facing the Flyers Saturday the Leafs played a very strong positional game and attacked the puck hard which allowed them to stay in the game until the end and earn a 3 to 3 tie. Sunday they faced Stars for the 2nd time in 3 games and this time the Leafs were much more complete in all aspects of the game, Solid goaltending by Zac and strong Defensive play by Dion, Alex, Matt, Evan, Brendan and Thomas resulted in a 4 to 2 win.
Game 8 - CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR
The Leafs yet again let one slip away, A 6 to 5 loss to the Stars has them in a small slump of late and hard work along with smart Hockey will get them back to winning. Goalie Zach was unable to play even though he gave it his best try. Mitchell Moses filled in for him and played well, Cooper Davis led the scoring with a 3 goal game. A 2 game weekend coming up so lets get things rolling Leafs!!!
Game 7 - SLOW START COST LEAFS
Trailing 4 to 0 after the 1st period the Leafs showed up in the 2nd and 3rd periods and were able to out score the Bruins 2 to 1 in those periods. That slow start though was enough to cost the Leafs game with the final being 5 to 2. As we talked about we need to practice hard so games become easier.
Game 6 - BETTER EFFORT BY LEAFS SUNDAY
Following a soft performance vs the Sens the Leafs battled and attacked harder against the Bulldogs and led by 3 goals from Dylan, strong goaltending and good overall positional play it resulted in a 3 to 3 tie. Lets keep the new look Leafs going forward and play hard every shift every game.
Game 5 - NEW LOOK LEAFS OUT BATTLED VS SENS
The Sens came out hard and won multiple puck battles vs the Leafs and that resulted in the Leafs not being able to mount much of an attack. Goalie Zach was very busy and was extremely strong all game allowing the Leafs to stay in it. A missed penalty call by the refs on what was breakaway for Cooper Davis late in the 3rd allowed the Sens to hold onto a 2 to 1 lead and they handed the Leafs their 1st loss of the season.
Game 4 - FLYERS HANG AROUND UNTIL THE END VS LEAFS
Being a 3 to 1 game midway through the 3rd the Leafs popped in a couple more goals and downed the Flyers 5 to 1. As you have noticed more changes have come into play with us and we have been ripped of Lukas Geske, Nathan Shedden and Owen Lintott. Let's see how the league and the New Leafs look going forward.
Game 3 - TWO HIGH POWERED SCORING MACHINES SQUARE OFF
In a barn burner of a game the Leafs and Stars went at Saturday afternoon and traded goals most of the game. Hard battles by both teams and some nice goals resulted in a 8 to 8 tie game. The Leafs played with only 12 skaters and all players showed great effort with the extra ice time they needed to soak up. Nice Job Guys!
GAME 2 - ANOTHER HIGH SCORING ATTACK BY THE LEAFS
The Leafs took complete control of the game with an explosive attack from all lines Saturday morning on route to an 8 to 0 win, The Bruins battled hard but just weren't able to muster any response to it. The league has made some moves to help balance things out and the direct impact to us will be the loss of #4 Nolan Ormerod and # 16 Zach Hammond. we wish them well with their new teams! We will welcome in Nathan Shedden and Mattieu Morris.
GAME 1 - LEAFS OPEN SEASON WITH BIG OFFENCE
From the drop of the puck the Leafs were all over the Bulldogs and by the end of period 1 the game was well in control. With the score getting out of hand the Leafs players showed great sportsmanship by shooting the puck in the Bulldogs end at the red line and running the clock down. The Final score was 11 to 2.
