Labatt got a strong effort from the entire roster and managed to finish on a positive note snapping a losing streak and
skating to a 6 - 2 over the Gold Chiefs. Landing at 9th place in the 10 team league not exactly something to write home about but avoiding the bottom slot is at least something positive. Labatt powered by 2 Hat Tricks. Lacoursiere with 3 goals and Tom Porod with a 3 goal hat trick his first in senior league play. Gordon in net for Labatt steady all the way to earn the win.

STARS: * Porod ( Hat Trick 3 goals) / ** Lacoursiere ( Hat Trick 3 goals) / *** Gordon ( Goaltending.)
Addtional Labatt Scoring:Kerwin ( 2 assists);Carlson (1 assist); Price (1 assist); Fischer (1 assist);Murphy (1 assist) and Pasterski (1 assist.)

That is it and the 2018 - 2019 Sunday Night League Season is in the books.
Have a great summer.

Unfortunately for Labatt they could not shake the bad habit of fading in the 3rd period of a game.
The same dynamic played out again for Labatt in this game. The Greybeards did not have their Ace defenseman Pakkala but Labatt was without one of their Aces missing Czachor. It was a competitive game to around the half way mark with Labatt evening the score at 4 - 4 and with Labatt trailing 6-5 early in the 3rd period. Then the bottom fell out for Labatt and the Greybeards pulled away to a big 11 -5 win. The Beards scored their final goal with about 3 seconds left on the clock to rub some salt into the wound.

Stars for Labatt: ( Lacoursiere Hat Trick plus 1 for 4 goals, 1 assist) / ** Kerwin ( 1 goal, 1 assist) / Fischer ( 2 assists.)
Mason, Price,Carlson, and Murphy added 1 assist each for Labatt. Final Tourney game and final league game of the season tomorrow at noon vs. the Gold Chiefs.

MARCH 31, 2019 PLAYOFF GAME # 4.
It was a good effort by Labatt in this game as the score was tied at 4 - 4 past the half-way point of the game but
the speedy Bears found the high gear late and pulled ahead to earn an 8 -5 win over Labatt. The Bears are the top rated team in the league so Labatt did well to keep the score close most of the game.
Stars for Labatt: * Porod ( Defensive play and 1 assist) / ** Price ( 2 goals, 1 assist) / *** Czachor (1 goal, 2 assists.)
Additional Labatt Scoring: Lacoursiere (1 goal, 1 assist); Litzsinger ( 1 goal); Pasterski, Fischer, Kerwin, and Campbell all with 1 assist each,

Labatt winless over the playoff series but the Tournament is a new contest so Labatt will try to pull an upset with a good showing in the tournament next weekend.

 MARCH 24, 2019   (PLAYOFF GAME # 3)

Unfortunately for Labatt a trend has developed wherein the team plays well for half of a game and keeps the score close then the bottom drops out and the team nose-dives.  It happened again in this contest against the Point Bullets (formerly the Coors Silver Bullets but now Point Brewery of Stevens Point sponsors the team.) Labatt took an early lead but then Point came back to tie the game and then ran away to a big win.  Labatt had a near full roster missing only Duey Campbell.  Point was missing one of their Aces without Drew O'Brien but it made no difference as Point spanked Labatt , final 11 -4, in the Battle of the Beers.  After the strong start Labatt just could not clear the puck out of their defensive zone repeatedly Point took the puck away and put it in the Labatt Net.  Gordon in net for Labatt with the tough luck loss as the team did not give him much defensive support.

Stars for Labatt:  *Lacoursiere (2 goals, 1 assist) / **Price (1 goal / 1 assist) / *** Czachor ( 1 goal.)

Litzsinger, Pasterski, Murphy, and Kerwin added assists for Labatt.

Best to bury this one, try to forget it , and see about a better showing next game.

MARCH 17, 2019 ( ST. PATRICK'S DAY )
Labatt had a short roster and recruited Dragon's player Cali Geh once again as a substitute skater to bring the line-up to 10 skaters. It was an up tempo hard skating game all the way. Labatt tied the game at 2-2 early in the 2nd Period but thereafter the Hounds pulled ahead and took a 7 -4 win at the final buzzer.

It was a well played game by all skaters involved. Stascak in goal for the Hounds and Gordon in goal for Labatt both played well in the contest.

STARS FOR LABATT: * Campbell ( 1 goal, 2 assists) / ** Price ( 1 goal, 1 assist) / *** Litzsinger ( 1 goal.)
Additional Labatt Scoring: Czachor ( 1 goal, 1 assist); Kerwin (1 assist); Geh (1 assist.)

MARCH 10, 2019   Playoff Game # 1 for Labatt. Close game to the mid-point but then the Blades pulled ahead and got the 7 - 3 win.  Could have been 8 -3 but a Blades goal was disallowed due to the net being knocked out of position. Gordon in net for Labatt faced 51 shots making 44 saves.

STARS FOR LABATT:  * Lacoursiere (2 goals) /** Kerwin ( 1 goal) / *** Czachor (2 assists.)  Honorable Mention: Gordon (Goaltending.) . Mason, Litzsinger, and Carlson all with 1 assist each.
