THE TRADITION STARTS HERE!



OUR MISSION: The purpose of the BYFA is to offer all players in grades K-6 from teams within the jurisdiction of the association the opportunity to participate in an organized, supervised, competitive football program. Its purpose is to implant in the youth of our communities the ideal of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence in the instruction of the game of football. Our desire is to aid in molding and developing model student athletes.

OUR TEAMS:

  • Flag 5-6 years
  • Freshmen Tackle 7-8 years
  • Sophomore Tackle 9-10 years
  • Junior Tackle 11-**12 years

* The age of the player may not exceed the maximum league age limit as of September 1st.

** In the event a child’s age exceeds the maximum league age, is in the 6th grade and is no older than twelve (12) as of December 1st, he/she will still be eligible to qualify for placement on a Junior Division roster.

ANY CHILD GOING INTO THE 7th GRADE IN ANY SCHOOL IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO QUALIFY.

*Football registration fees do not include equipment costs. Equipment will be purchased by the participant.
OUR PRACTICES:
Practices begin on the Tuesday of the week containing July 23th at the BISD Junior High Football Facilities.
Practice Week One: This week is set up for "Grass Drill Conditioning" practices whereby all tackle football players will exercise and condition in preparation for full contact practices. Practices for this week are held ,Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00PM-8:00PM to attain the required number of hours of no contact, no pads grass drill conditioning. Note: Your athlete will not need his equipment this week; except, for the possibility of a helmet during the Friday session.
August Practices:
Prior to the beginning of BISD's school year we practice 2 days per week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:00PM until end of practice.
Regular Season Practices: Subsequent to the
beginning of BISD's school year we will practice 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6:00PM until end of practice.
Flag Football Practices: Practices for the Flag Football team varies from year to year. Your athletes coach will contact you regarding practice days and times; however, typically these practices will coincide with the tackle divisions practice sessions.
Cheer Practices:
Practices for Cheer varies from year to year. Your athletes coach will contact you regarding practice days and times; however, typically these practices will coincide with the football practice sessions.
OUR GAMES: All home games are played at the BISD High School Stadium. We will have 8 regular season games (4 at Home and 4 Away). The first season game will begin on the last Saturday of August and will run consecutive each Saturday thereafter. Each Saturday after regular season, for teams that make playoffs, there is the possibility of four playoff games which includes the Super Bowl. Games times are as follows BUT keep in mind these times ARE subject to change. Please communicate with your athletes coach as to games times and locations.

There are no weight limits in any division for players who will not be a ball carrier. A player that will be considered a ball carrier/receiver will be weighed at certification. The certification time, date and location will be announced.
