WPIAL Baseball Coaches Association Showcase
Registration for the 2019 WPIAL Baseball Coaches Association Showcase is now open. The showcase will take place on June 1, 2019 beginning at 9:00 am at Burkett Field in Robinson Township. The showcase is for 2020 graduates only. Please distribute both the attached information sheet and registration form to your best juniors. This is the 15th annual showcase and we have sold out every year, so please encourage your players to register early. The showcase is typically attended by about 60 college coaches (all levels). A list of the colleges that attended last year is shown at www.wpabaseball.com.
Also, please remember that we are updating our player data base in mid-March for 2019-2022 graduates. This data base is sent to over 300 college coaches and, based on our survey, they do find the data base useful in their recruiting efforts. So please take a few minutes to update, add or delete players from the data base. I previously sent out a list of the players in the data base. Let me know if you need another copy. It is not necessary to respond if you have already sent us player information.
Registration Begins for the 7th Annual Big 26 Baseball Classic
Registration is now open for tryout sites in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Tryouts are open to any high school player (in PA/MD) graduating in 2020 or 2021. College Coaches and Pro Scouts are invited to each tryout event.
As you begin your high school seasons, we hope you'll share this opportunity with your players. Information packets were sent out to coaches last month that contained some event information and tearaway cards that can be distributed to interested players.
The 2019 Big 26 Baseball Classic® will be played July 25-28 at FNB Field in Harrisburg, PA. The Buddy Picnic and Challenger Game are scheduled for July 25, with the 3-game series for Pennsylvania vs Maryland following on July 26, 27 & 28.
