BAP TO BAP! Court Officers defend title, beat Klash 4-1
The Court Offifers and MVP Chris Didonna defeated Klash 4-1 to defend the HLI 30D title. As it was throughout the playoffs, team effort was the story in this game as four different Court Court Officers tallied. The Klash opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, but Rob Corwin responded a minute later to tie it up. The game would remain deadlocked until halfway through the second, when Russ circa 2006 skated through two defenders and scored on a tight backhand. Biamonte would counter with a showing from 2006 as well, as he scored 20 seconds later with his patented cut to the middle and shoot back across the goalie. Delouker drove the nail in the Klash coffin with a five hole goal with 3 seconds left in the 2nd. From there, the Court Officers defense and goaltending took over, with Pete making several spectacular saves and the defense, led by the MVP keeping the Klash at bay. Great win, great season, great team - I wouldn't change a thing. BAP!
Court Officers win 30D Championship with dominant effort
The Court Officers won the Fall 2011 30D Championship with a 6-1 drubbing of Effin Gruven. Harry "The Hammer" Einbender opened the scoring with a blast just 42 seconds in. No one would score again in the first, but Delouker delivered a 5 on 3 power play goal from the high slot early in the second to increase the lead. The Court Officers took a 2-0 lead into the 3rd, and then their special teams took over. Three shorthanded goals, including two on the same penalty kill (by Corwin and Brown) and one later in the third by Zash would cap a dominant third. Scott Halpern added the other Court Officer goal. Despite a seemingly lopsided score, the game would have been much closer if not for the incredible efforts of 30D MVP Pete Nawrocki. The Rock made at least half a dozen big saves in the final game, and only allowed 7 goals total through four playoff games.
About the Court Officer Hockey Club
The NYS Court Officer Hockey Club was founded in 1998. The teams first 3 seasons were spent in "Midnight Hockey". In the 4 years spent playing in "Hockey Long Island", the club has grown into a fierce, competitive opponent, that no team in the league looks forward to playing. The club also boasts 2 gold medals, 1 silver, and 2 bronze in its illustrious Can-Am tournament history. Although falling short of a championship in the Fall '06, the club still had the best season in its history. Can-Am '06 is history, and the club had its best tournament ever. Taking home the bronze medal against the best competition we've ever seen at Lake Placid is something we should all be proud to have been a part of.
