EAST DULUTH GIRLS HOOP CLUB

GENERAL INFORMATION:
 East Duluth Girls Hoop Club, led by the Duluth East Girls Varsity coaching staff, is a competitive basketball organization that provides 4^th through 7^th grade girls the opportunity to develop their basketball skills, strengthen their understanding of teamwork, grasp the importance of commitment, form life-long friendships, and so much more.  Ultimately, this is the Duluth East High School feeder program but any girl interested in playing basketball and enrolled in a Duluth area school is encouraged to register.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

 Date: Mon Sept 30, 2019

Time: 6:30 -7:30 pm

Place: East High School

Upon arrival, be prepared to share: contact information (player name, home address, current school, current grade, parent/guardian names, parent/guardian phone number(s) and email address); emergency contact information, insurance information (provider, policy number, phone number); uniform size (top and bottom). Upon completion of registration paperwork, families are free to leave.

Teams will be created based on the number of girls signed up at each grade level (there will be no tryout). There may be multiple teams per grade.

 Registration fees (does not include uniform fee):

4^th and 5^th grade: $215

6^th and 7^th grade: $250

 Registration fees include tournament fees, shooting shirt, equipment, insurance coverage, player banquet meal.

 NOTE: Uniforms are not included in the registration fee. We are currently in year two of a three-year rotation. Most players will be able to continue to use their uniform from last season. If a new uniform is needed this season, the cost will be $60.

 IMPORTANT: Registration fees, volunteer deposit and uniform fees will be collected at registration. Scholarship opportunities are available.

TOURNAMENT/PRACTICE INFORMATION:
 Our teams will play in tournaments in the Twin Ports area, Northwest Wisconsin and in the Twin Cities Metro Area.  Do not be intimidated by the travel.  We are teammates and friends, and teammates help each other. We can rideshare, carpool or super-fan for your child if you are unable to make tournaments.

 Tournaments take place on weekends and are typically 1-day format with a guarantee of three games.  Teams will play in 6-8 tournaments throughout the season.

 Teams will practice 2 nights per week at area schools.  Practices will begin in mid-October. The season will conclude in early-March.

VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS:
The success of East Duluth Girls Hoop Club is dependent on the help of our many volunteer parents, grandparents and friends. Your involvement is essential!

 Upon registration, families will be required to provide a $100 volunteer deposit check. Families are expected to perform 4 hours of service.  Families completing the minimum hours will have their checks destroyed.

 Our primary need for volunteers is November 2, 2019 for the David K 3 on 3 tournament at Ordean Middle School.
