Eagles were Finalists in the 17U National Championships in Notre Dame, Indiana




The Niagara Eagles ended their 2015 season by capturing the NTN Showcase Invitational.   In a hard fought game - the Eagles beat a powerhouse from Bayside Queens New York in the finals.  In the 4th inning - with the Eagles down by 2 runs - Michael Gabriele delivered with a 2 out bases clearing double to left center giving the Eagles the lead.  Just 2 innings later - with Gabriele on 2nd - Andy Xapsos delivered  a RBI single up the middle.  Dan Dallas came in the last 2 innings in relief of starting pitcher Gabriele to lock down the win - striking out the side in the 7th.

 The tournament victory was the 3rd of the Summer for the Eagles that lost only 4 games out to 35 for the season.

Over the past 3 seasons - The Eagles have won 11 out of the 17 tournaments they have entered -an absolutely astounding accomplishment!!

What a run!   Congrats to all the boys

The Niagara Eagles continued playing great baseball with an outstanding effort and result in the 17U National Championship held in Notre Dame, Indiana.  The Eagles played against top notch regional powerhouse teams from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois.

Rain Cancels Pittsburgh Cap Classic Early


 Rain again interrupted the Eagles this past weekend in Pittsburgh.   Prior to the rain - the Eagles were one of the only 2 undefeated teams remaining in preliminary play heading into the championship rounds.  Unfortunately rain put a damper on the Eagles.  


Eagles head out to Notre Dame this coming weekend to battle for the 17U National Championship.    



Eagles 3Peat as Darien Lake Tournament Champions

June 14, 2015


Niagara Eagles bats were alive again this weekend as the they won the rain shortened 2015 Darien Lake Tournament.   The tournament win crowned the Eagles as 3Peat champions of the tournament.  Due to rain storms - the tournament was cancelled Sunday afternoon.   The Eagles were declared winners due to their #1 seed position after the preliminary rounds.  In the 3 games played, the Eagles scored 30 runs without giving up a single run.  In fact Eagle pitching only gave up 5 hits for the entire tournament.   The Eagles were led by hitting performances by Casey Gruarin who stroked a HR , Michael Gabriele (5-9),  Nate Mascellino (3-5), Dan Dallas (5-8 with 3 doubles and a HR) and Vince Chiarenza (4-8).

Alex Licata and Andrew Slattery combined for a no hitter in the opener, while Michael Gabriele and Jack Herman combined for a 1-hitter against Orange Crush.   

 The Eagles travel to Pittsburgh next weekend to compete in the Pittsburgh New Era Cap Classic Showcase before heading to Notre Dame, Indiana for the 17U Nationals.

The 16U Niagara Eagles Showcase brought home their 4th title of the summer by winning the 18U Lancer Classic Title.   The Eagles defeated 18U teams from all over the region, including the Brampton Royals, SC Sharks, Webster White Sox, Lewiston Lancer, Wisconsin Allstars and the New Era Showcase team.   The Eagles went 6-0 for the weekend.


In the final game, the Eagles battled with New Era and came out victorious in a 12 inning championship marathon.   Michael Gabriele opened the bottom of the 12th with a double.   After an intentional walk to Dan Dallas, Andy Xapsos did his job by executing a sacrifice bunt and moving both runners.  After another intentional walk to Zak Mitchell -  Mike Brettell lofted a short fly ball to right center that was enough to plate Gabriele with the winner run.  Dan Dallas locked up the New Era bats through 9 innings, allowing only 4 hits in that stretch.  Jordan Kowalski picked up the win for the Eagles by shutting down New Era for the final 3 innings.


The Eagles win was the 4th of the summer for the Eagles and 8th in the past 2 years.


Eagles Capture Lancer Classic Title

July 28, 2014





 The Eagles captured another title this past weekend by repeating as the Lancer Classic Champions.  The title marks the 7th title in the last 2 years for the Eagles.


The Eagles defeated the Easton Titans in the final game by the score of 8-1.  The Eagles were led for the tournament with hitting performances by Vincent Chiarenza .563 - Russ Mistretta .538 - Michael Gabriele .466 - Dan Dallas .430 - and Zak Mitchell and Jordan Kowalski .421 each.  Dan Dallas added 4 homeruns and 16 RBI's over the weekend.












The Niagara Eagles travelled to Johnstown PA for the Flood City Elite tournament.   Living up to the areas reputation, the tournament was rain delayed and shortened.  The Eagles won their Pool and were seated as the #2 seed in the playoffs.   The Championship bracket was delayed until late on Sunday night due to excessive rain.  Eventually the game between the Pittsburgh Rebels and the Eagles could not be played -  resulting in Co-Championship for the 2 teams.


Eagles try to defend their title next week when they participate in the Darien Lake Invitational tournament.





Eagles Win 4th Crown of the Season


The Niagara Eagles captured the regular season and playoff season in the 2013 Boys of Summer Travel League by going an undefeated 14-0.

The Eagles will try to cap off their outstanding summer by trying to grab the hardware at the upcoming Buffalo Wings Summer Slam.






Eagles Capture 3rd Title of Summer


The 15U Niagara Eagles continued playing great baseball in capturing the 2013 Lancer Classic this past weekend.  This marks the third title for the Eagles this summer


In normal fashion, the Eagles pitching and defense led the way, while the Eagles bats continued their torid streak.  In capturing the title, the Eagles scored 61 runs while only allowing 7 in 5 games.    





2014/15 Niagara Eagles - TRYOUTS ANNOUNCED

The Niagara Eagles will be holding tryouts for the 2014/2015 Showcase team.  Tryouts will be held at Washuta Park on Thursday, August 14th at 6:00pm and Saturday August 16th at noon.


Everyone is invited to participate and workout.


The Eagles will be playing in the Fall of 2014, including local games and 2 away tournaments.  The Eagles will be working out during the winter months at the WNY Strike Zone - and will be playing an aggressive showcase tournament schedule in the Summer of 2015.


We are only interested in players who want to play and learn baseball at the highest level.
