Kodiaks 12U win championship game 8-2 over Full Throttle to win Avon Tournament
Kodiaks had a strong performance in the championship game, winning 8-2. Jake Comer started the game throwing 3 innings while Hunter Hensley closed the door with 3 innings of strong relief, striking out 4 batters. The Kodiaks flashed the leather playing great defense, turning a double play with the bases loaded. Kodiak pitchers loaded the bases 3 times and got help from the defense only giving up 2 runs over 6 innings. The Kodiaks almost ended the game in the 6th inning when Jake Comer came out of nowhere to grab a line drive hit to CF and nearly throwing out a ruuner at 1b for the 3rd out. Braxton Fulwider who drove in the last 2 runs of the game with a 2 RBI triple, fielded a hot ground ball up the middle and stepped on 2b for the final out. Kodiaks win first tournament of the year and played some really good baseball. Offensive Highlights: Stevens 3-3, Brabec 3-3, Waggoner 1-1, Wynn 1-3, Fulwider 1-3, Marckel 1-3. Defense Highlights: Comer & Hensely combine for 7 K's on only 3 hits.
Kodiaks 12U beat Hurricanes 8-7 in extra innings to advance to finals
Josh Marckel singles in the bottom of the 7th inning, steals 2nd and 3rd base and Jake Comer smashes a walk off double over the CF head to score Marckel for the winning run. Kaleb Stevens gets the win in a great relief pitching performance. Kodiaks advance to Championship game in Avon Tournament. Offensive Highlights: Comer 2-3 game winning RBI, Marckel 2-3 2 RBI's game winning run. Defense Highlights: Stevens 6 K's in relief game winning pitcher.
Kodiaks 12U open season 2-0 in pool play earn #1 Seed in Avon Tournament
Kodiaks start the season out strong winning their first 2 games of the season. Coach Bradley had the boys ready to go as they advanced to the semifinals and claimed the #1 seed. The boys put a lot of hard work in this winter and it paid off. Kodiaks primed and ready to make a championship run on Sunday.
Game 2 Kodiaks beat Jesters 12-7. Highlights Offense: Comer 3-3, Brabec 2-3, Fulwider 2-3, Bradley 2-3, Marckel 1-3, Pike 1-1, Chmielewski 1-3. Pitching: Comer, Brabec & Wilsey combine to strikeout 9 batters. Kodiaks had 10+ stolen bases in this game 5 players scored 2 runs.

The Kodaiks bat's got red hot as the put up 9 runs and Anthony Ryback saved his best game for the last with a complete game shutout. The defense played well with Matt Wolfe's amazing stop at 3b for a Double Play. Kyle Titsworth ended the scoring threat with a catch and a rocket to home plate for the last out of the game in the 7th inning.

Kodiaks use pitching depth to extend win streak to 8 games. The Kodiaks won their last two tournament games at IU SE and have won 6 straight games in the Danville Fall League. I really like the new players we added and the vetern guys have played up to form.
Kodiaks hold on to beat Braves 8-7 move to 3-0 on the fall season.
The Kodiaks came from behind to beat a good Indiana Braves team 8-7. The Kodiaks used 6 pitchers over 8 innings to win a close victory. Anthony Ryback & Wyatt Geisler threw 2 scoreless innings. In the 3rd inning the Kodiaks gave up 4 runs on 3 walks and a hit. We didn't play sound defense today we didn't make routine plays, back up plays and we walked too many batters. When you score 8 runs you should be able to put the other team away. Reece Jensen had a strong game on the mound throwing 2 scoreless innings and smashing a triple to lead off the 6th inning. Jarred Wolfe pitched well over 2 innings and Kyle Titsworth hung on for the save. Kyle had good velocity and worked out of a tough spot with guys on base.
Kodiaks win 10-5 in second week of wood bat fall league move to 2-0
The Indiana Kodiaks moved to 2-0 this fall with a 10-5 win over the Indiana Extreme. The Kodiaks got solid pitching from 5 players (Ryback, Richardson, Fuson, Jensen & Titsworth). Titsworth was very impressive with striking out the side on 9 pitches. Kyle has emerged as a guy who you can give the ball to and he can shut the door. The Kodiaks had 12 hits over 8 innings and Dewey Ashley knocked in 4 runs with a double and a 2 out single. The defense proved to be solid with only 2 errors on the season.
Kodiaks bats on fire 22 hits to open fall league 30-0 Victory
Indiana Kodiaks pounded out 22 hits in 30-0 victory. The Kodiaks used 6 pitchers and gave up 1 hit over 8 innings and only allowed 1 walk. The Kodiaks were also solid in the field with no errors and turning 3 double plays. They boys came ready to play today we faced a decent team and when you hit the ball well from top to bottom you give yourself a chance to score a lot of runs.
Kodiaks sweep Louisviile Bears to advance to the final 4 of IUSE 18U wood bat challenge
The Kodiaks have comeback of the ages to advance to the semifinals of IUSE 18U Wood bat classic. The Kodiaks trailed 6-1 in the 5th inning and came back to win 7-6 in the bottom of the 7th inning. We faced 3 excellent pitchers 2 left handers and we used 4 pitchers to hold off elimination. This was a great team win for us. Clutch hitting & great relief pitching was the key for the Kodiaks victory.
The Kodiaks bats got hot to run rule a tough Louisville Bears team 8-0 in 5 innings. The Kodiaks earn #4 overall seed rematch with the Louisville Bears to earn a trip to the final four. Wyatt Geisler smashes a bases loaded triple to lead the hot hitting Kodiaks. We beat a really good team if we face them again it's going to be a fight.

Kodiaks earn #1 seed after pool play in Hoosier Elite Wood Bat
THe Kodiaks had a great second day of the Hoosier Elite wood bat Tourney. The Kodiaks sweep their Saturday games at Taylor University. This has been a top level tournament and Taylor has great facilities. We played solid defense today and the pitchers did thier jobs and threw strikes. We got some timely hitting and made the most of our opportunities. This has been a geat turn around after not playing well on Friday.

Anthony Ryback threw 7 great innings against a power hitting Indy Nitro team. Anthony does a great job of changing speeds and spotting his pitches. Seth Knuckles came in and threw a scoreless 8th innning.
Former Kodiak Daniel Dieckman decides to play his college baseball at Manchester College
Daniel Dieckman has decided to continue his baseball career at Manchester college. Daniel had 3 college programs showing interest Manchester, IUSE & Hanover. Daniel has decided to play for Spartans of Manchester. Daniel is a very good student and this will be a great fit for him.
Danville Senior Daniel Dieckman has received two offers to play college baseball in the last 2 weeks. Daniel had an official visit last week at Manchester and this week IUSE offered Big Daniel after an impressive workout. Both Manchester and IUSE offered Daniel a place on their college rosters after he made official visits on recruiting trips. I'm so proud that Daniel is getting some interest at the college level he really improved his game last summer. Daniel fought through some injuries his senior season at Danville but he never put his head down and he fought through a lot of adversity when things didn't go his way. Daniel comes from a great famly and I couldn't be happier for him........Coach Marckel
Kodiaks win tourney opener go 1-1 in pool play. Kodiaks #4 Seed
Despite having just 9 guys the Kodiaks grinded out a opening night victory over the Ohio Cylcones. The Kodiaks drop the second game of the IUSE College exposer tourney to the Cincy Force Kodiaks go 1-1 in pool play and finish with the #4 seed. Kodiaks get beat in rematch with Ohio Cyclones. I was proud of the boys they fought hard with just 9 guys suited up to play. The Kodiaks made a good impression on the IUSE coaching staff with several players receiving some recruiting looks. I can't wait to have all the guys suited up and ready to play this weekend.

Kodiaks beat Sonic Braves in rematch 5-2 to take Bloomington Invitational!
The Indiana Kodiaks crushed the Terre Haute Ice twice 14-1 and 14-0 with great pitching from Joe Richardson, Seth Knuckles, Anthony Rossok and Dakota Adams. The Kodiaks dropped a game to the Terre Haute South Sonic Braves 8-3 which set up a rematch in the Championship Game at Winslow Park in Bloomington. The Kodiaks' Wyatt Geisler threw a 3 hit complete game to shut down the Braves, backed by several great defensive plays in the outfield and infield for a 5-2 win to take the Bloomington Invitational Championship!
The offensive attack for the tournament was led by John Fuson with 8 hits and 5 rbi, including 2 doubles and 1 triple, and 4 stolen bases. Zach Castetter had 5 hits with 6 rbi, including a double and 2 stolen bases. Peyton Jones had 5 hits with 3 rbi, including 2 doubles and 2 stolen bases. Kyle Titsworth had 4 hits with 1 rbi including a double and 5 stolen bases. Daniel Dieckman had 2 hits including a huge 2 rbi hit in the championship game. Seth Knuckles had 2 hits with 1 rbi including a huge double off the center field fence to add to the Kodiak lead in the championship game. Other Kodiaks with hits were Dewey Ashley with a double and 2 rbi, Geisler a hit, Harper a double, Burnett a hit and rbi, and Rossok a hit. Marckel and Geisler executed SAC Bunts and Castetter, Titsworth and Knuckles all had SAC Flies.
Kodiaks Go Undefeated in USTOC Wood Bat Shelbyville Tournament, Win Championship Game in 8 Innings
The Indiana Kodiaks swept the USTOC Wood Bat Tournament at Shelbyville High School winning three games in one day to take the Championship. The Kodiaks beat the Bedford Sluggers twice and the Ohio Heat to make it to the Championship game. The Kodiaks battled the Columbus Titans for eight innings in the Championship game in a pitchers duel to win 1-0. Peyton Jones led the Kodiak offensive attack for the tournament with 8 hits including a double and two triples and 4 rbi, including the game winning SAC Fly in the championship game scoring Dewey Ashley from third who took the first pitch of the inning in the shoulder to get on base. Kyle Titsworth pounded 7 hits, with a triple for the tournament with 2 rbi and was 7 for 7 stealing bases, John Fuson slammed 5 hits, including 3 doubles for the tournament with 3 rbi with 2 stolen bases, Daniel Dieckman totaled 5 hits with 3 doubles and 6 rbi. Other Kodiak hits were Castetter 2 hits, including a triple, also 2 hits by Ashley, Allen and Harper, and hits by Geisler, Marckel, and Rossok. The Kodiak pitching staff of Dieckman, Rossok, Geisler, and Barnett dominated the competition backed by great Kodiak defensive plays including a web gem behind the back scoop and throw to first by Peyton Jones.
Kodiaks Drop First Two, Win Three Straight to Win USTOC Father's Day Tournament in Shelbyville
The Kodiaks dropped their first two games on Saturday but came back to win three straight on Sunday to win USTOC Father's Day Tournament in Shelbyville. The Kodiaks' bats got hot as they beat the Indy Revolution 17-1, Columbus Titans 10-5, and the US Athletics 10-8. Peyton Jones smashed a bases loaded triple in the top of the 7th to give the Kodiaks the lead in the championship game. John Fuson and Wyatt Geisler were bulldog pitchers for the Kodiaks as Fuson won two games and Geisler pitched six innings. Catcher Jake Marckel swang a very hot bat with 7 hits on Sunday. Catcher Kyle Titsworth was also stellar behind the plate for the Kodiaks.
