2019-20 Thunder coaches
Lawfield Minor Hockey Association is pleased to announce the following coaches will lead our select teams this year:
An amazing season for the Peewee Thunder, a perfect tournament record of 4-0, including The Alliance Provincial Championship, The Dofasco Select Tournament, The 17th Annual Winterfest Tournament, and the Winter Thaw Select Tournament. The Lawfield Community could not be more proud of their hard work perseverance and excellence all season following the loss of their head coach Eddie McConnell. A special thank you to the coaches and parents that have made this season possible.
The Peewee Thunder headed into the Provincials this weekend with a perfect tournament record. With having already brought home 3 banners, the Thunder had their eyes laid on one more, The Alliance Provincial Championship. The Thunder had 4 wins and 1 tie before heading into the Championship game against Sarnia. Off the opening face-off and 8 seconds into the game Aube opened the scoring, the team added 11 more before ending the game 12-1. The Lawfield community is proud of the teams performance, excellence, and perseverance all year. You've made the community and coach Eddie proud.
Two Lawfield teams won City Championships this weekend. The Novice Jets with a 4-3 win in overtime against Mountain and the Bantam Senators with a 7-2 win over Dofasco, congrats to our novice and peewee team!

The Peewee Thunder add another banner to the rafters of Lawfield. The team went into the Niagara Falls Minor Hockey Ange Giajnorio Memorial Winter Thaw Tournament with a perfect tournament record. The Thunder came out flying, racking up wins against Oshawa 7-0 and Niagara Falls 10-1. The Thunder met Dofasco in the semis and took control of the game early, winning 7-3. The championship game brought no new nerves to the Thunder, as they had previously won two tournaments in the year. The team finished the game 6-2 to go back to back to back in tournament wins.

LMHA Gender Policy
Lawfield Minor Hockey Association has approved a Gender Policy. Please review it: Gender Policy.
Mandatory gender discussion
The OHF has mandated that coaches must have a discussion with their teams early in the season with regards to gender identity, inclusion, and discrimination. This has been covered in the news and there is information available on the Alliance Hockey website. We would like to know if there is any member of Lawfield with training or experience regarding this subject, specifically with regards to minors. If you would like to be of assistance in our effort to handle this in a proper and timely fashion, please contact either Tony Carden or Kevin McGuirk through the contact link on our website.
New gender identity & expression training now required for all team officials
