The Long Island Rough Ryderz open the 2017 season in The President's Week Challenge @ Island Garden. Our 9U, 11u, 13u and both 14u teams played hard and and gained valuable experience.  With a host of new faces the Rough Ryderz by the end of the tournament learned how to play together and will build on that experience. thanks to Coach Rod and Coach Rich as well.

Our Ladies of Legacy also playing in their 3rd tournament came out on top with their 1st win of the season. The ladies are Coached by Dennis Moore

Our 9u Boys playing under the Legacy Banner played to a 1-2 record in their 1st tournament. It's going to be an exciting season working with these young men.

The 11u team played to an 0-2 record playing against 2 National teams in Gauchos and Queens Elite. Although the outcome was lopsided, they fought to the end and will bounce back.

The 13u team playing with 8 new faces finished with an 0-3 record and will get better with time and work.

The 14u B team playing with a whole new team played to a 1-2 record but fought hard and beat a very big Full Force team for their lone win.The talent on this team with work will surprise a lot of people this season.

 

Our 14u Elite team went 4-0 winning the Championship game by 31. Our elite team is loaded with talent from top to bottom and will make a lot of noise this year.

Welcome back to all the Current and New Rough Ryderz for the 2017 season. We have a ton of new faces...Players, Parents and Coaches, but the mission remains the same.... DEVELOPMENT, GROWTH, IMPROVEMENT....and Some WINNING too.  Lets get off to a great start Ryderz..... The season is what you make it!!

 

 

 

 

Congrats to the L.I. Lady Ryderz on a huge comeback overtime win in the Championship game of the "Remember Our Youth" tournament. They played a very tough Baldwin team who they went 1-1 against in the regular season. Down 8 points with under 4 minutes, 3 huge steals by Tournament MVP Iyana Mitchell got the Lady Ryderz back in the game and her 2 clutch free throws sent us to OT..

In OT, with Starting center Alayna Owens fouled out and soon to be followed by Iyana Mitchell, Tough interior defense played by Aliyah Owens and game sealing free throws by Haylee Stuart and Destiny Hurt gave us a hard fought victory. We also got big contributions from Sati'jyia Johnson and Bianca Benjamin.

WAY TO BRING IN THE NEW YEAR LADIES!!!

Congrats to the Long Island Baby Ryderz for finishing 7-1 in the Game 7 youth summer league. We're looking forward to an exciting Winter and Spring. You'll hear from us soon!!

Congrats to THE LADY RYDERZ for winning their 1st championship out at Coastal sports. The ladies battled in 3 close games showing their toughness as they were shorthanded. With only 6 healthy bodies for the first 2 games, The ladies dug deep in the championship game to pull out the 27-25 victory!! Lets keep rolling Ladies!!


also want to shout out the 12u, 13u white & 14u team for going 2-1 each in their respective divisions...

OUR NEWLY FORMED 15U TEAM, IN THEIR FIRST TOURNAMENT TOGETHER DEMOLISHED THE COMPETITION OUT EAST IN NORTHSPORT. ALTHOUGH SHORT HANDED, THE RELENTLESS DEFENSE HELD STRONG AS THE RYDERZ CRUISED TO 2 EASY VICTORIES IN THE FIRST 2 GAMES.. HOLDING OFF A TOUGH KENDALL MADISON TEAM IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PROVED TO BE A REAL TEST... IN WHICH THE RYDERZ WEATHERED THE STORM AND BROUGHT HOME THE TITLE.... NOW OFF TO BK AND RUMBLE IN THE BX!!! LETS GO!!

BIG CONGRATS TO THE 16U TEAM FOR GOING UNDEFEATED AND WINNING THE THE VS MARCH MADNESS TOURNAMENT.

ALSO WINNING THE MARCH MADNESS TOURNEY WAS OUR 14U TEAM BY DEFAULT.. THE OTHER CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WOULDN'T PLAY FOR THE TITLE.. SORRY WAY TO GO OUT...

BIG CONGRATS FOR OUR 13U/7TH GRADE ROUGH RYDERZ FOR WINNING THE 8TH GRADE SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS ON MARCH 31, 2012. THE UNDERSIZED RYDERZ LED BY COACH DAVE MOSES AND OUR 3 ALL TOURNAMENT SELECTIONS, KYLE HARDING,STEPHAN VAILES & JOHN TIMONY III DOMINATED THE 8TH GRADE DIVISION TO THE SURPRISE OF MANY. WITH A RELENTLESS DEFENSE AND 3 BALLS RAINING, THE RYDERZ ROLLED THRU THE 1ST 2 OPPONENTS SETTING UP A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AGAINST A VERY BIG KENDALL MADISON. LED BY KYLE HARDING'S HEADY PLAY, AND OUR SIGNATURE PRESSING D, THE RYDERZ TOOK CONTROL EARLY AND NEVER LET GO. WITH BIG CONTRIBUTIONS FROM NICK PHILLIPS, JOHN TIMONY III AND STEPHAN VAILES, THE UNDERDOG RYDERZ TOOK ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

CONGRATS TO THE 13U WHITE TEAM,LED BY COACH ROD BRIDGERS, ON WINNING THE 2012 SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT NORTHSPORT ON SUNDAY APRIL 1ST. PLAYING AN UNCHARACTERISTIC BACK TO BACK TO BACK GAMES WITH ONLY 15 MINUTES BETWEEN EACH GAME THE RYDERZ CAME TOGETHER AND PERSEVERED. GOING INTO THEIR 4TH GAME(CHAMPIONSHIP GAME), THEY OVERCAME TIRED LEGS AND BROUGHT HOME ANOTHER TITLE TO THE ROUGH RYDERZ FAMILY. CONGRATS TO TYREE TOWNSEND & ZION ROBINSON FOR MAKING THE ALL TOURNAMENT TEAM!

To all the players who attended, Although it wasn't as successful as we would have liked, there's always a silver lining.....

Our 12u team went 0-3 this weekend, but played hard and fought fatigue on college sized courts. We made many correctable mistakes and will have a stronger showing next tournament.

SILVER LINING: We played 2 of the top ten 12U teams (NEW RENS & ECE)IN THE TRI STATE, MD and PA.. And we hung tough!! Thats a big step for a team moving up in a tougher class of play first time out.. CONGRATS!!

Our 13u team faired slightly better with a 1-2 record, also playing against highly ranked opponents. This weekend was a great experience for the 13u.

Although the 14u was short handed, They played 3 tight games going 1-2 losing 2 games by 3 and 5pts. With a few new additions the 14u team will be a force to reckoned with.

Congrats to the 15u for going 2-1, with their loss being very controversial.. also being an elimination game. But as always we'll take the experience and grow... GREAT WEEKEND FOR THE L.I. ROUGH RYDERZ!!!!!

Congrats to the 14u Ryderz on winning the Brentwood Winter League in February 2012!!!

In the Lady Ryderz first tournament, We're proud to say they fought hard in the championship game and came away with 2nd place with a 4 pt defeat against an experienced opponent. This is just the start of a great year for our ladies. 2012!!! HERE WE COME!!

December 29, 2011- Congrats to the 12u Ryderz on taking 2nd place in the 1st annual Gene Henderson Kwanzaa Tournament @ Kennedy Park in Hempstead,L.I.. We'll get them next time!!!!!

In the 15u division, The L.I.-Queens Rough Ryderz dominated with a short roster and a relentless attack. Thanks to all who came out and supported!! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

Congrats to our 7th grade Rough Ryderz for winning the 2011 Brentwood Fall League!! Winning is becoming 2nd nature round these parts.. Big congrats to Stephan Vailes for winning league MVP. MORE TITLES TO COME!!!

Welcome back Rough Ryderz!! Year 1 is in the books and it must be said... 2011 was a very successful year. Although the start of our inaugural year was a rocky one, We persevered and fought thru some hard times. But through our struggles we learned to trust each other( coaches as well) and come together for 1 common goal.. and that was to be champions!! End results: 2 championships in the Spring... and the summer was awesome! 6 teams, 5 championship games, 3 championships won!! Nuff said!!

Year 2 we plan on taking this ship to a whole other level!! So everybody hold on to your seat belts... We're ready for lift off!!!
