Brian Goes to the Wells to win his 3rd Monteef Cup!!

Brian Wells made a clutch par on the 18th to hold off Andy Thon by one stroke and win his 3rd Monteef Cup in only 6 attempts! Wells overcame a traumatic intestinal and stomach incident on Friday night in the Mid Pines locker room and shot a Saturday afternoon 78 on his way to the title. Thon shot good scores in all 3 rounds but came up 1 short. Rich Onze had the low Sunday round with an 83 but had too large a deficit to overcome. Kevin Porter also started the day well back and could never really get it going in the final round despite trying to "horse it" on several shots.

Wells also led a Team LeMoyne return to dominance as they took the team title by 9 strokes. Although both teams were even on their best ball, the Dolphins stayed away from big numbers on their second ball and took the title. The Blue Braves struggled with their second ball at the dreadful Pit "Golf" Links and went down by 9 early Saturday morning. The Dolphins increased their lead to 15 in the afternoon and held on to win on Sunday.
