Slam History and Team Philosophy

Welcome Visitors, College Coaches and Prospective Players and Parents!

We were an independent 18U Class A team that competes in ASA, USSSA, and Pony Tournaments.   After many request, in the fall of 2016 we added 14u and 16u teams to the SLAM family.    Our 18u team will continue to play Class A and Open tournaments to be sure we are challenging our girls and providing exposure to college coaches.   Our 14u and 16u teams will play a large variety of Open and B events, again with the goal of challenging them to be the best they can be.   Our goal is to provide an environment that promotes the growth, knowledge, and well being of our players to take them to the next level.  We believe their are many life lessons that can be learned on the field of play, not just those limited to the game of softball.   We also believe these lessons can be learned in a calm environment without the need to berate, scream at or humiliate players.

We expect our players to be committed student athletes willing to learn, practice and play hard with a never say die attitude.   Win or lose their is always something to be taught.   We also expect our "Students" to maintain excellent grades in school in order to participate.  The first question out of the majority of college coaches is "What are your grades like"?!  We enjoy the support of our players parents, businesses, family and friends in the form of positive reinforcement and allowing the coaches to coach.

Our team started with a great group of like minded parents, players and coaches at the 12U level when we we're associated with the original Susquehanna Slam organization.  In the fall of 2010 after enjoying unparalleled success, winning or placing in every tournament at 14u, we made the jump to 18 Class A, where we have been ever since.  Upon the demise of the founding organization in 2011, our team separated and created the Susquehanna "Valley" Slam and are not to be confused with the current Slam Fastpitch organization.
