2015 SWOSL Season

Registering a New Team - 2016

The South Western Ontario Soccer League (SWOSL) is a men's soccer league that has had teams from Middlesex County, Elgin County, and the City of London.  The league's season normally includes a 16-20 game regular season (depending on the number of teams) and an end of season playoff.  All games are played on weekday evenings between Monday and Thursday with regular season games generally starting at 7pm.  The season normally begins in early May and ends with the playoff finals in early September.  The league has a low tolerance for unsportsmanlike or violent behaviour, and has a system of increasing suspensions and fines for players who accumulate yellow and red cards.

If you are interested in entering a team in SWOSL for 2016, your main responsibilities would include:

1.  Obtaining a field for your home games.
2.  Providing your own jerseys (see the league's policy on conflicting colours).
3.  Paying the referee fees for your home games.
4.  Paying the annual registration fee of $300.
5.  Submitting a completed roster using the documents found under the Handout section.

SWOSL employs a referee co-ordinator during the season who supplies a referee for each game.  The annual fee paid by each team covers all of the league's costs for the year, including insurance.  If you would like more detailed information on SWOSL, you can review the league constitution or you can contact the league using the email mailbox.  Both of these items can be found on the left hand side of the page.

History Section Updated

All of the 2015 standings and statistics have been added to the History section of the website, which can be found on the left hand side of the page.

Standings, Statistics, and Playoff Eligibility

The league will again be tracking games played, goals, yellow cards, red cards, and goalkeeper statistics during the regular season.  These stats can be found by clicking on the drop down menu located on the standings page.  At the end of the season, the league will again produce a list of all players that are not eligible for the playoffs.  Rules on playoff eligibility can be found in the constitution link on the left hand side of the page.

2015 Field Location Changes and Game Times

All games normally begin at 7PM, with the exception of Railway City FC home games which will start at 8pm.  Also note that the occasional game for Southwold may start at 6:30pm and the occasional game for Railway City may start at 8:30pm.  Please review your schedules to ensure you have the correct start times.

Updated maps have been added to the field locations. Please note that since most fields do not have specific addresses, the maps are for the general location of the field.

New field locations for 2015:

Railway City FC and the Southwold Scorpions will play at Parkside Collegiate Institute in St. Thomas.

Talbotville-St. Thomas Tigers will play at Talbotville.

All other fields remain the same as last year.
