The Giants were never ahead until the final score. The Giants were behind 17-16 with 2 outs, bases loaded, 3/2 count on the batter in the bottom of the 7th. Runners were running with the pitch. Good Luck Charm??????

Why is Baseball So Hard????

This is a game played by two teams, one out the other in. The one that's
in, sends players out one at a time, to see if they can get in before they
get out. If they get out before they get in, they come in, but it doesn't
count. If they get in before they get out it does count.

When the ones out get three outs from the ones in before they get in without
being out, the team that's out comes in and the team that's in goes out to
get those going in out before they get in without being out. When both teams
have been in and out nine times the game is over. The team with the most in
without being out before coming in wins unless the ones in are equal. In
which case, the last ones in go out to get the ones in out before they get
in without being out.

The game will end when each team has the same number of ins and outs but one team has more in without being out before coming in.

WINNING....It never gets old. We took four games, all on Saturday to win it all.

WAVE wins, Wave wins, Wave wins

Our pitchers came thru big time in this tournament. They allowed only 15 hits and 3 walks in 24 innings. They also struck out 24 batters.

In the first Saturday game against the North Texas Drillers, Haylen threw a PERFECT GAME...no hits, no walks. He struck out six in 4 innings. Blake went 3-3. Gunner and Nate had two hits each. Final score 12-0.

In game two on Saturday, Tyler pitched a one-hitter against the Gilmer Lawmen, winning 16-0. He struck out six while walking no one in 3 innings. Nate and Peyton went 3/3. Blake and Haylen went 2/2.

On Sunday, Brent & Hunter combined on a 3-hitter against the Sulphur Springs RoughRiders. They did not walk anyone and struck out 3. We were behind 3-2 going into bottom of the sixth. Gunner led off with a hit and Parker drove him home with a hit. Brent then delivered a two-out hit to drive in the 4th & winning run.

In the second game, we had more heroics...this time against the Thomas Hitting Academy (THA) Stix. Trailing 4-1 entering the bottom of the 5th, Haylen walked and Tyler got a hit. Gunner and Nate each drove in a run with a ground out. Bases empty and two outs. Parker and Peyton each hustled to first on ground balls. Errant throws enabled each to get on. Brent worked a walk. Speedy struck out but ran to first on the dropped third strike. He was safe and the tying run scored. Hunter worked the pitcher for a game winning walk. Haylen and Hunter combined for a 4-hitter. They allowed one walk. Hunter got his second win of the day. Tyler and Hunter both went 2-2

In the Championship game against the Texas Thunder, Nate threw 5 1/3 strong innings scattering 7 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 7. Hunter came in with a runner on second and one out. He got the first batter to pop up and struck out the final batter to end the game. Final score 3-2. Tyler, Parker, Peyton, Speedy and Haylen each had hits. The wind was gusting throughout the game. Hunter, Haylen, Brent and Peyton did exceptional jobs catching fly balls under very difficult circumstances.

Home Run Weekend

A Texas Wave record was set this weekend as 7 bombs were hit in Livingston. Nate started it on Saturday with HR vs the Kingwood Mustangs. Haylen and Speedy combined on a 2-hitter to win 5-1. Gunner, Peyton and Blake also had hits. In game two on Saturday vs the Texas Seminoles, Brent got us going with a Grand Slam. Parker followed in the same inning with a 2-Run HR and Nate followed the next inning with a walk-off Grand Slam. Blake had two hits. Tyler and Hunter also contributed hits. Parker pitched a no-hit shutout with the Wave winning 14-0.

We are the CHAMPIONS

Nacogdoches 2009 Super Series Tournament

Sunday's Games

In game one on Sunday, we played the Texas Pack again. And again, like yesterday, the score was 5-4 but this time we came out on the winning end. Peyton was the hero this game as he hit a one-out 3 run opposite field HR to tie it up in the bottom of the sixth. Parker then hit a walk-off HR to end it. Parker and Nate completed this six inning game allowing seven hits while striking out 4. Parker went 3/3 and Tyler had 2 hits. Several others had hits.

In the Championship game, we beat the Line Drive 11-2. Hunter and Haylen combined to allow 7 hits in five innings. They struck out 3. Nate went 3/3. Others had hits also.

We had several outstanding defensive plays this weekend. 2 or 3 plays where a ball ricocheted off someone and an alert fielder got the ball and made the play. Several diving catches were also made. We got the ball in quickly from the outfield throughout the tournament which kept runners from advancing or even scoring.

Saturday's Games

We lost to the Texas Pack in game one, 5-4. Hunter, Nate and Parker allowed 5 hits and five walks to go along with 6 strikeouts. Haylen had two hits. Gunner and Hunter each had a hit. We also worked 9 walks. Speedy had 3 and scored two runs. Peyton had two walks.

In game two against the Texas Catalyst, we struck for 4 in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Haylen and Tyler combined to allow two runs and two hits over four innings. Parker went 2-3 with two 2R Home Runs. Nate also went 2-3. Speedy, Tyler, Hunter, and Blake also added hits. We drew 8 walks with Gunner and Peyton each drawing 2 each. Final score 11-2.
