Marlins 2013 Season Preview
In 2013, the Marlins will be celebrating their 10th anniversary. Quite a milestone knowing how many teams have come and gone over the last 10 years. They will compete in the 12 team Cleveland Adult Baseball Federation which continued to grow in competitiveness over the last few years and the Lake Erie Baseball League. The Marlins compete in the American Division and look to earn the division title and NABF Regional bid in 2013. They will face a stiff challenge once again from the Cleveland BlackWolves, Winking Lizard, and Cleveland BlueSox and an overall more balanced league. In the other half of the league, CMCB, Steve’s Sports, and Bedford/Steve’s Sports, and the Lake Erie Buckeyes will be the top teams vying for the National Division title.
This year, returning CABF All-League Chris Eggleton (P), Ryan Virtue (P), Pat Fallon (OF), Vinny Trivisonno (P) will look to lead the team along with a number of new comers.
Whereas in years past pitching was the dominant strength of the team, this year’s edition will feature a strong lineup to go along with e great staff on the hill.
2012 was a down year for the Marlins, where injuries and a shifting roster produced a sub-par season after winning 75 games over the last 3 years. In 2013, expectations are higher once again to repeat their success during the regular season, and to reach the NABF World Series.
