Upcountry had just 9 players on Sunday. Kevin Arrington had to play with a fractured left hand. The squad fought hard and had plenty of chances to win this one but it was a great game back and forth all day. Games 2 and 3 will be at Lahaina starting at 10 am Sunday, July 6th. Come on out and support the team as they try to take 2 away from a tough Pirates squad!

Upcountry Dirtbags are heading to the ship!

Dirtbags lost the first game Sunday 8-1 but came back to win the 2nd game by a score of 4-2! The Warriors starter held the Dirtbags in check the first game. The Dirtbags hit a few balls really hard in big spots but right at guys that ended up in double plays. That's baseball. The 2nd game the Dirtbags had something to prove and came out early with 2 runs in the first. This gave the squad momentum and they wouldn't look back. Dirtbags will face the Pirates in the Championship on Sunday at Maui High 10am! It's always great baseball between these two teams. Come out and support Dirtbag baseball!

Dirtbags secure # 1 seed with win over Scorpions!

May 12, 2014

On Sunday the Upcountry Dirtbags secured their spot as the # 1 seed in the playoffs with an 18-1 win over the Southside Scorpions. Dave P started on the mound, tossing 4 innings and earning his first win of the season. It was a great chance to get everyone some work so Scott Long was able to pitch 3 innings in relief in his first appearance since returning from St. Louis. Josh Meir then tossed 1 inning followed by Rayna Allosoda closing it down in the 9th. Giving Dave P the day off, Kevin Arrington stepped up and caught a complete game. One big story was seeing Catfish go a whopping 3-6 in his first game in 2 seasons! Josh Meir led the offesnse going 4-7 with 5 runs and an RBI. In addition, Josh made one hell of a web gem at on a pop fly between 2nd base and center field. Rich Doster went 3 for 7 with 5 RBI's.
