Franklin Square: Defending Champions

April 12, 2013

Franklin Square, NY- Just under a year ago the team from Franklin Square went on a run for the ages!!! The thirteen and fourteen year olds dominated the district to go onto the next level, in which they destroyed. Then came the New York State Championships!!! They dominated that also. Then came the eastern regional tournament in which they won just by a little over a team for Rhode Island. That took them over eight hundred miles to Michigan where they would be one of the eight teams in the world to play for it all. After winning there first game, they struggled, and this time didn't win it all, but it was still an amazing run!!! Now comes the hard part: do they win the district? With new and improved teams we won't know until its over but if last year indicates anything, then we can be in for some domination!

New Season, New Style

April 7, 2013

West Hempstead, NY- In the pros you see teams that are completely redone. The Astros are a good example of that! But this years Juniors team is COMPLETELY redone. Starting from a new coach, Brian Browne will be in his first season after a couple of very successful years in the Majors and Double A. Then think about this. Not one player from last years roster is returning! This years roster consists of only 13 year olds making the WH Juniors the youngest team in the league. Perhaps this means an improved record. Last year wasn't anything special!
