    Introducing The BULLDOGS!!!!!
The Roxborough 21st. Ward Jr. Baseball and Softball League is proud to announce the new team name for the 12 year old traveling tournament team, which will represent our community in the prestigious 2009 Cooperstown Tournament in August, as well as the Cal Ripkin Memorial Day Tournament in Aberdeen Maryland.

This year's team will be called the Roxborough Bulldogs.

The Roxborough Bulldogs will follow in the footsteps of the Bandits, River Rats and all the other teams dating back to 2000. The Bulldogs thank you for your past, current and future support.

Thank you to all who participated.

    Cooperstown
    To the Roxborough Community,

Since the year 2000, the 21st Ward Junior League has sponsored a 12-year-old team to play in a weeklong tournament at the Cooperstown Dreams Park in New York. The League’s Advisory Board elects this team’s Manager in the summer before the tournament because of his experience and reputation within the League. Through a series of try-outs this Manager picks the team he believes will work best together in year of practices and tournaments that culminates in the trip to Cooperstown.

Recently, an additional group of players has decided to embark on a similar mission. While the League applauds their efforts, we need to make it clear that there is only one team sanctioned by our Organization. It is our understanding that this additional team has approached local businesses and families for support of their program. They have taken a similar name and logo to the teams we have sponsored in the past and may be claiming to be the ‘official’ Cooperstown team of the 21st Ward. Please make no mistake; the Official 2009 Cooperstown team representing the 21st Ward Jr. Baseball League is our current 11-year-old tournament team consisting of:

    Lizzie Citrone
    Tyler Clark
    Joe Jordan
    Branden Loschiavo
    Connor McKenna
    Pat McKenna
    Tyler Minuto
    Dan Nolasco
    Robert Nolan
    Robert McGarry
    Stanley Ruth
    John Stoffere

    Manager: Rick Clark

Please help us by supporting our team on their quest to Cooperstown!

Their events and progress can be followed here on our website.

    Thank you!
    The 21st Ward Junior League

    John Citrone – Commissioner
    Rick Clark – Deputy Commissioner
    Ray Delaney - Secretary
    Chris Stoffere – Treasurer

    Advisory Board...
    is still being filled.

The positions listed were filled to seat an Advisory Board through the Budget process. Additions to the Advisory Board are still being made. Please be patient.

The omission of an Advisory Board position or name does not at this time mean that any person or position has been excluded. In most case, the people or positions being considered have not been contacted yet.

The listing will continue to be updated in the 'Contacts' file to the left.

    Thank you!

    Budget Approved
A special General Body Meeting was held last night in order to discuss/approve the budget for the upcoming year. Chris Stoffere (Treasurer) went over the details of the budget and it was approved by those in attendance. The Advisory Board wants to thank those who attended this meeting on short notice. A copy of the budget can be found under the "Handouts" section to the left.

21st Ward Junior League elects a new Board!
The 21st Ward Jr. Baseball League elected a new board to a two-year term.
    Elected were:
    John Citrone - Commissioner
    Rick Clark - Deputy Commissioner
    Chris Stoffere - Treasurer
    Ray Delaney - Secretary

The elected board wishes to thank outgoing Secretary, Jim Lammendola, for his tireless efforts during his time in office.

A huge debt of gratitude is due outgoing Commissioner Butch Buchanico. His dedication to our children, his vision for what our league could be and the improvements that were made to our programs are all testaments to his efforts during his tenure. All of his hard work and time are greatly appreciated by the players, coaches, parents and the board. Thank you Butch!

A special thank you also goes out to the Commissioner Buchanico's Advisory Board; their dedication to the League and our children is unmatched by any local sports program.

The league has improved in many ways due to their efforts and they should be commended for all they have done.

We look forward to their continued involvement in the league
