We’re thrilled to announce that Ss. Cyril & Methodius CYO is officially forming a CYO Track & Field Club for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8!
This new program will give our youth the opportunity to learn, train, and compete in a fun, supportive, and faith-based environment while proudly representing our parish. 🌟

🏅 About the Program
Our CYO Track Club introduces children to a variety of track and field events — focusing on fun, fitness, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Participants will compete against other CYO parishes across Long Island in organized meets.
Events may include:
🏃♀️ 50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m sprints
🏃♂️ 800m and 1600m distance runs
🪂 Long Jump
🏃♀️ Relays

💵 Registration Fee: $125 per participant / Uniforms are an additional $40

Participants must meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

🏃♂️ What age groups or divisions will compete?
Divisions are typically grade-based (Grades 1 - 8), allowing athletes to compete against peers of similar age and ability.
📄 What paperwork is needed?
Each athlete will need to complete:

A CYO Registration Form

A Parental Consent & Medical Release Form

Proof of residency, school enrollment, or parish registration
🏅 How many events can my child compete in?
Each athlete can participate in multiple events at a meet, depending on their division. Coaches will help select events that best suit each child’s abilities and comfort level.
⏰ When are practices held?
Practices will be held once or twice a week at a local track or field. Specific times and locations will be announced after registration closes.
🗓️ How many meets are there?
There are generally 4–6 meets per season, culminating in a championship meet. The full meet schedule will be released once confirmed by CYO.
👕 What should athletes wear?
Registered participants will receive an official Ss. Cyril & Methodius Track uniform. Athletes should also wear running sneakers or track shoes (details on footwear guidelines will be shared before the first meet).
🚑 Are there medical staff at the meets?
Yes — all CYO-sanctioned meets have first aid personnel on-site. Coaches will also carry basic first aid supplies at all practices and meets.
💬 Who can I contact with questions during the season?
Our program coordinators and CYO track liaisons will be available throughout the season for questions, scheduling updates, and general support.
🏆 Are awards given?
Yes! CYO meets typically award ribbons and medals for top finishers in each event. Every athlete’s effort and sportsmanship are celebrated!

Columbus Day Parade Participant Registration
Hi Everyone!
On Saturday, October 11th , the Sons and Daughters of Italy will host Deer Park’s very first Columbus Day Parade!
Start: 12:00 noon
at the Deer Park Firehouse
on Lake Avenue
Route: March down Deer Park Avenue to the Constantino Brumidi Lodge
This will be a historic and memorable event for our Deer Park community .
Ss. Cyril’s CYO Basketball and Deer Park Elite Athletics
have been invited to participate and march!
