UPDATE- BBC HAS AMENDED IT'S PLAYING TIME RULES.  ALL PLAYERS WILL HAVE THEIR MINIMUM PLAYING TIME REQUIREMENT INCREASED BY 50 PERCENT.

EACH PLAYER WILL PLAY A MINIMUM OF ONE HALF THE GAME.  

     10 PLAYERS- ALL PLAYERS PLAY 2 PERIODS

      9 PLAYERS- 2 PLAYERS PLAY 3 PERIODS, 7 PLAYERS PLAY 2 PERIODS

      8 PLAYERS- 4 PLAYERS PLAY 3 PERIODS, 4 PLAYERS PLAY 2 PERIODS

      7 PLAYERS- 2 PLAYERS PLAY 3 1/2 PERIODS, 3 PLAYERS PLAY 3 PERIODS, 2 PLAYERS PLAY 2 PERIODS

      6 PLAYERS- 4 PLAYERS PLAY 3 1/2 PERIODS, 2 PLAYERS PLAY 3 PERIODS

      5 PLAYERS- 5 PLAYERS PLAY 4 PERIODS

MAXIMUM PLAYING TIME PLAYERS MAY PLAY LESS, BUT MUST PLAY AT LEAST 2 PERIODS.  MINIMUM PLAYING TIME PLAYERS MAY PLAY MORE, BUT NO MORE THAN 3 1/2 PERIODS.  NO PLAYER WILL PLAY LESS THAN THE MINIMUM OR MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM EXCEPT FOR INJURY, EJECTION OR FOULING OUT.  ANY SUBSTITUTION IS LOWER RANKED PLAYER AVAILABLE.  IF NO LOWER RANKED PLAYER THEN SUBSTITUTE IS LOWEST HIGHER RANKED PLAYER AVAILABLE.

OVERTIME IS FREE SUBSTITUTION.

Rules-

All divisions bonus one and one occurs at seventh team foul in a half.

Division 5.  Grades 2/3

The first three (3) games defense inside 3 point arch except 4^th period is half court defense; game four (4) on 1/2 court defense; unless rebounder does not hold the ball,  any attempt to  pass or fast break can be defensed at any time.  10 point lead, defense drops back to inside the 3 point arch entire season.

                      No lane violations apply. No 3 point field goal, all attempts 2 points.

                      Free throw line in three feet.  One and one is always 2 shot attempts.

                      3 time outs per game.

                      6 minute scholastic clock; intermediate size ball. 8’ basket

                   

Division 4.  Grade 4

                      1/2 court defense only; unless rebounder does not hold the ball, any attempt at a pass or fast break can be defensed. Press last 2 minutes of game if lead is under 10 points.

                      Free throw line in two feet.  No 3 point field goal, all attempts 2 points.

                      3 time outs per game.

                      6 minute scholastic clock; intermediate size ball. 10’ basket.

                      

      Division 2.  Grades 5/6

                      All court defense; unless 10 point lead then no press. ½ court defense only.

          3 point field goal awarded

                      6 minute scholastic clock.

                      3 time outs per game; regulation size ball. 10’ basket

 

Division 1.  Grades 7/8

                      All court defense; unless 10 point lead then no press. ½ court defense only.                                   

                      6 minute scholastic clock. 

                      3 time outs per game; regulation size ball. 10’ basket

 

Behavior Sanctions

 Any league or travel player involved in vandalism at any school at any time will be expelled from BBC basketball for the season.

If vandalism occurs and is traced to BBC, but not a particular player, the team will have practice suspended for the remainder of the season.

No league or travel player serving suspension/expulsion will be eligible for league all star competition and travel participation.
