CONCESSION STANDS & YOU!
Surprising as this may be to some of our parents,
C.I.T. would rather refund the $20.00 fee to you
after your help in the concession stands is complete!
The $20.00 family fee, which is collected during registrations, is intended to be refunded!
If you were unable to complete your time slots because of a stand being closed (Crafton was not opened this year), or a rain-out, or for whatever reason, please remember you may fulfill your time during tournaments.
Please watch here for further poatings on tournament dates so you'll know when you may be needed! Thank you!
Ewing Road Construction
Ewing Road between Grandview Avenue
and C.I.T.'s Jerry James Way
will have road reconstruction work.
The road will be closed each day
until approximately 3:30 p.m.
C.I.T. Members and Visitors WILL BE ABLE to access
Meyer & Middleton Park for games each day.
If the road should be completely closed,
we will post an updated notice here!
Information You Should Know as a C.I.T. Member!!!
Members of C.I.T. should be aware of the following, so when in
conversation with patrons or those from other organizations
you will know this information definitively!
Topics which follow are all concerned with finances, which seem to concern everyone!
Meyer & Middleton Park and the property on which it sits is
NOT municipal property, like the fields who are used by many
of our surrounding neighbors. We do, however, use the municipal
fields located in Crafton Park and Ingram's Foster Park.
The property was NOT donated, and therefore, is NOT paid for.
This acreage was purchased in 1997 and developed into this ballfield complex during the years of 1998 and 1999. The grand opening and first season occurred in April 2000. As the demand for field time grew and
the availability of the proper-sized fields lessened, it became apparent
to those past-board-of-directors that something needed to be done! Hence,
the development of Meyer & Middleton Park's five-field complex.
The sizable debt which was incurred is NOT paid from your child's registration
fees, but rather from the many FUNDRAISERS which C.I.T. asks you to support. That is why it is so important for you to help out when asked,
whether in the concession stand, selling tickets, working a booth at Celebrates, or whatever is required! Your child's regular season registration fees are used for, but do not fully cover, the uniforms, umpires, balls, miscellaneous equipment, and itemss which would always
be directly related to your child's regular season of play.
Also, tournaments and all-star team players are priced separately before the tourney season begins. That fee helps to cover uniforms, entrance fees (which are constantly escalating), balls, etc. Fees are based on each team's participation and the manager's commitment to help with the C.I.T. tournament for that age level, and permits the team to travel to two outside tournaments.
JUNE NEWS ITEMS
EXCITING THINGS ARE HAPPENING!
Despite the rain on May 31st, about 18 players aged 9 to 12 attended the 2nd annual Ryan Douglass FIELD OF DREAMS CLINIC. The clinic focused on pitching, hitting, fielding and base running, although the infields were too wet to use! All participants received a free Field of Dreams t-shirt. Many thanks to Ryan Douglass and his crew for giving their time and knowledge to the kids of our communities.
YANKEES vs PIRATES TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW!
2 chances for $5.00
See complete information elsewhere on the website.
CRAFTON CELEBRATES begins on June 30th with the traditional parade. Time slots for each day will be assigned soon. Team moms and managers will soon be getting each team's parents to sign-up for a time slot and help out in a C.I.T. booth. Please help. Just a little bit of time and help is of the greatest importance to us! Thank you in advance for helping.
COACHES, PLEASE NOTE: For any rain make-up games you may have . . . DO NOT SCHEDULE GAMES DURING THE WEEK OF CELEBRATES!!!
Thank you for your consideration.
DO YOU READ MAGAZINES ?
If you regularly read or subscribe to certain magazines, why not check the MAGAZINE STORE tab (at left). Maybe those same magazines you're paying for now are on our list, and while you're subscribing anyway, you can also help out C.I.T.
Take a look . . . there are tons of publications listed, for kids or teens, boys, girls, men, women, and maybe even your pet(!) . . . you name it, it's probably there!
Thanks for considering this fundraiser!

History of C.I.T. Baseball & Softball Association, Inc.
C.I.T. Baseball & Softball Association, Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, has provided community youth baseball since 1951. The organization started as the C.I.T. Little League, which was at that time associated with The Little League Organization.
C.I.T., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has provided community youth baseball since 1951. The organization started as the C.I.T. Little League, which was associated with The Little League Organization of America. In that first year, there were four Little League teams with 60 players, ages 9 to 10. Most of the operating costs in those days were defrayed by team sponsorships and local business contributions. The organization incorporated in 1966 after its merger with the existing community Pony, Colt and Prep League organization. In 1982, the organization expanded to include a girls’ softball program, and in 1995, it expanded again to provide a Super Tee instructional program for 5 and 6 year olds. C.I.T. has grown to today’s size of more than 40 teams and 500 children, ages 5 through 18.
Today C.I.T. is funded entirely by contributions, fundraising, advertising, team sponsorships, and the support of it's participating families. The association operates through the volunteer efforts of its Board of Directors, managers, coaches, and general membership. In Spring of 2000, C.I.T. celebrated the Grand Opening of its five-field complex known as Meyer & Middleton Park located in the Chartiers Valley in Crafton Borough. The 20-acre site was purchased in 1997 and improved through the efforts of volunteer laborers and generous donors. The complex is privately owned by the association.
For over 55 years, C.I.T. has provided the youth from our communities with an exceptional recreation program that builds athletic skills and competitive spirit.
