My professional responsibility is as a licensed practical nurse which allows me the opportunity to aide in improving the quality of life of individuals within my community. I have had the opportunity as a nurse to work primarily with individuals who live with mental/physical disabilities and or behavioral disorders. For approximately eight years I have worked with youth and adolescents who at times need therapy and guidance to manage both positive and negative situations in their lives. It is my responsibility to act in the young person's best interest by advocating for what will promote the individuals growth. I believe fostering a strong sense of self, accountability, self-discipline, conflict resolution and responsibility to others is vital for youth development. I have volunteered as a youth baseball coach for the past two years with White Plains Recreation Dept. I grew up playing organized sports with a father who was actively involved in my development and growth every step of the way. I believe as parents we must invest as much time and energy in our children as we do our professions to award them the best chance at reaching their potential. As a coach with the WPTYFL, I strive to encourage youth to be leaders, respect one another, never give up and most importantly strive to do their best at everything! "Inches Make Champions"
